Hi Everyone,

I have a 150gb Raptor running Windows XP on my MacPro and unfortunately it'll no longer mount on the desktop.

When tested with TechTool Pro and Drive Genius, the drive is recognised but in both instances the volume didn't show.
Exactly the same happened with Disk Utility and the System Profiler.

I've spoken with Apple and their recomendation is to re-initialise the drive which I really don't want to do as stupidly I dont have a back-up

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

DataRescue?
15"MBP@2.4/250/2/256 (This space saving format should be an international standard)
I'm actually TOO good at both TMFPPG and Fable:TLC.
I sleep in a BBEdit T-shirt, but I'm a TextMate user.

Keep in mind that when you do a "normal" re-initialisation the data on the drive is not actually overwritten. It's very likely that you could rescue all (or at least most) data from that drive when you re-initialise it and then run some un-deleting app on it.

But first you should run the latest version of DiskWarrior. A couple times DiskWarrior has rescued a my hard drive when no other program could even see it.

Do you know if DiskWarrior will recover an NTFS volume?

It won't. I think you'll need a Windows or Linux based tool too fix this issue.
