Hi, I need some advice about making a new purchase. The computer I have at the moment is a Dual 2.5 PPC G5, and I haven't paid much attention to changes in hardware for five years. Having recently played Medieval II: Total War on a friend's pc has me finally ready to jump to an Intel mac, but I don't want to spend the money for a Mac Pro, especially when I'm more of an RTS/MMO player than a FPSer. I do want to be able to play any RTS that's currently out, or will be coming out (Starcraft II <cough>), without many problems. Is that asking too much of an Imac, or should it be just fine? I'm almost willing to buy a PC (Heh, heresy, yes.) if necessary, since I mainly use my computer to game, but I'd rather stay with a mac if that's possible. I can wait until early 2010 for the purchase, but don't want to go longer than that.
So, essentially: Can I get what I want with a mid-range Imac, or should I switch?
Thank you for your help.

The mid-range iMac right now will be able to handle all of the RTS/MMO games, but not at the highest graphic settings. The higher end one with the 4850 will be able to run anything, probably maxed
It'd be better to wait though, since the iMac's are rumored to get updated sometime in October. Possibly with the new i7 goodies
