Great looking indie puzzle / adventure game out for Mac and PC on Oct 16th can now be pre-ordered for $17 ($3 off the normal price)
System Requirements: Operating System: Windows XP / Vista, Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) or newer.
Processor: 1.8 GHz, Memory: 1 GB RAM, HDD: 250 MB, Minimum Screen Resolution: 1024x768, Recommended: 1280x800 or higher.

None of that, they're just saying that for every person that bought the game, there were roughly 9 more that didn't and pirated it.
And they can guesstimate the numbers from hunting down torrent numbers and direct DL sites, using that as a basis. Heck, I'm sure there's people that were cheeky enough to distribute the DL link they were emailed (as happened with the Humble Bundle, where they estimate around 25% of all the DLs direct from their servers were unpaid for)...
