Speaking of racing games I was really hoping for F1 2010 which is looking great from the videos and previews I have seen so far. Feral have even previously ported a couple of Codemasters racing titles with Colin McRae and TOCA3. I even saw the Apple logo here http://www.formula1-game.com/ but then realised they meant the iPhone version of F1 2009   

Although we got EA's F1 2000 my guess is the licensing costs will mean the only way to play this will be to buy a console and another wheel or mess about with Windows and bootcamp - neither sound appealing to me - I'd much rather spend that money on supporting Mac OS X becoming a better platform for games.

The game engine and the entire game was ported by the Feral team in house without any outside collaborations. As far as I know no Mac UE3 code is available right now.

Game For Windows Live is no big problem basically every port these days has some form of GFWL or other API built in.  These days to make a port you have to deal with lots of middleware, GFWL is one of the easier ones to avoid/remove.

No demo exists on other platforms so no demo on the Mac either. We do have Mac <-> PC Co-op gaming on LAN and internet which is a LOT of fun

Well I know we have one more title to tease you with before Christmas But I can't think of a clever hint right now so the only thing I will say is it's a game, it's popular, we are making a Mac version of it.

Basically middleware can be easy to deal with or hard to deal with but always expensive

Nope, you only have to license technology if you use it, for example almost every game we port uses Bink video but on the Mac we use h264 in a Quicktime wrapper instead and remove all trace of Bink from the game. As such we don't license or display any Bink copyrights in our games.

Glad you like it If you hunt about in the data folder you might find my save games which are 100% complete on play-through 1 but play-through 2 is untouched allowing you to play all the way through the game with a pretty well tooled up character.
