Personally, I'd prefer if Feral did less Lego games, and no iOS games at all to focus on Mac games. iOS already has too many games.

Well it just goes to show how they can't please all the people all the time. LEGO games must sell well or they wouldn't do so many. Lots of people like them even though I can understand having the wishes/preferences you do. I am somebody who was just thrilled to see Feral begin bringing games to iOS and even though I knew I wouldn't have time for it yet, I bought Rome:Total War when it released for iOS because I also knew I wanted to play it on my iPad and given that, buying it on release was my very small way of supporting them coming to iOS. I have since played it some but not seriously yet. I love what I have seen so far. They did an awesome job with the touch controls in my opinion. They did an awesome job period, as usual.

I wouldn't assume that branching out into other areas such as iOS ports necessarily means cutting back elsewhere. That assumes a lot that might or might not be true. One thing I would say is for sure is that if the iOS games sell well, what's good for Feral is probably also good for the Mac side of things in a general sense.

I'd agree with you that iOS has too many games. However, I would argue that iOS could certainly use more high quality games that come in one piece without microtransactions poisoning their designs and other issues relating to poor quality. So from my perspective I think it is fantastic to see Feral bringing games to iOS and look forward to upcoming releases as yet unknown.

These are very popular games and Feral have good relationships with the original developers/publishers, which they need to maintain.
I'd like see some Bethesda or EA games ported, but this isn't going to happen. These two apparently don't like Macs or porting houses.

Sure, I get it, I'm just not interested in those franchises and I'd like to see more laptop-capable ports from Feral. Both Aspyr and Feral seem to be sticking with their current relationships without branching out.

I'm not interested in EA anymore (RIP Bioware), even on PC, so no loss there. Arkane's games would be amazing, but yeah, Bethesda--not going to happen.

Ellie, "...stop trying to make 'fetch' happen, it's not going to happen!"
I was wondering if that was just an English colloquialism.

Sorry man, I still haven't got anything interesting to tell you about that. But DXMD is still coming to macOS, and so are many more games that are totally fetch.

You just said fetch. My god.
Maybe it really is all cocks in the end.

I was about to say exactly this, yeah. The fact that iOS is now a slice of the Feral pie doesn't mean that macOS gets a smaller slice. It just means we made a bigger pie.

I'm glad you said "pie" and not "cake," because even Mac gamers know the cake is a lie. (Not that I don't like cake ... and pie for that matter. Dagnabit, now I'm hungry!!!)

So DiRT Rally needed macOS 10.13 / Metal 2 to finally be ready for later this year?

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided shouldn't be too far behind, if High Sierra and Metal 2 help.
Maybe even later than 'later this year'.

Otherwise, great news!

Feral confirmed in twitter they are using Metal 2 for DiRT. I wonder if they can say more about the Metal 2 features they leveraged of if they just took advantage of bug fixes.
