RPG/Adventure with deep skill/stat systems?

I've already played through the Fallouts and the Baldurs Gates, and despite my badmouthing of Diablo, it has a cool EQ and class system. High production values are preferable, as is the ability to run on my MBP.
I'm actually TOO good at both TMFPPG and Fable:TLC.

Got to love BG though .. I'm playing through BG: TotSC via easytutu for the mac on my intel iMac and having a blast. Just a shame we never got Planescape: Torment..

Knights of the Old Republic? I never played it, and it may also have Intel issues.
Except for the high production values, though, the Spiderweb games (Avernum, etc.) fit the bill as far as leveling, skill, stat, magic and equipment systems go.
I, too, like the RPGs, so hopefully, others will suggest dozens of games.

- KOTOR is working on OS X Intel but could need one fix to fix one problem of slowdown in one area part. Even without this fix you can pass though this small part with some dedication. I don't remember where to find the manual fix explanation (it's one file missing to take from a PC version).
- Eschalon Book I isn't a low production but not a high production. It has nice graphics and good gameplay, it worth the play.
- Realmz will require to use an emulator but it worth the play if you get the addon The Sword Lands Trilogy. Graphics and sounds are very low production but the design of this trilogy is a high production value. The author site includes the hint books if you get stuck somewhere.
- Heroes of Might & Magic V isn't a standard RGP and more a strategy/tatical game but the V has more a RPG mood than other in the series. It's a high production and a fair game, it's a sort of Tactical RPG.
- Puzzle Quest is another original Tactical RPG, rather good but again it's more a tactical game than a RPG but the class/item system is rather interesting.
- The Ur-Quan Masters (Star Control II) is an original and excellent RPG freely ported to OS X. Alas the lack of mouse controls make the Mac version a bit troublesome a solution could try to use a pad that allows remap the keys to pad controls. That's also an old game and that make it a low production.
- You didn't enjoyed NWN, but NWN2 too? Myself I prefer NWN2, and found the OC rather good and found the addon Mask of the Betrayer excellent and it is working on Mac. As far I know other official addon won't work yet because the Mac didn't get the last updates. But it seems they are working on it or have plan to update the mac to latest version.
- ULTIMA V: LAZARUS is a free addon for Dungeon Siege and has a Mac version released. You can consider it a high production but I don't know how good it is as I haven't yet played it.

I get a solid 100+fps on my Pro with everything maxed out, and got that even when i had a GeForce 7300, so i'm not sure where you get/got that idea.
Runs fine.
The main draw of NWN is the massive amount of user-created content, a lot of which is better than any of the 3 OCs.

I forgot about this after buying NWN. Where is a good place to look for NWN user-created content and can you recommend some of the better ones by name?

NWNVault has just about everything there is.
the best of them, created by Ossian Studios (and it was supposed to be one of their Premium Modules before it got scrapped) is Darkness Over Daggerford.
There's tons of them, though. Lots of great recreations of old D&D PnP modules. (Keep on the Borderlands, Against the Giants) and remakes of some of the old Gold Box SSI games (the Krynn series, and the Pools series).

Did I miss a patch or something? It was a bit draggy on my 7600, and you expect blinding performance from a game of that age.

Nwn ranks at the top on my "Bang for the Buck" games. Man I played the bejeezus outta it. Been a long time, but a couple of community module series from memory:
Shadowlords (1-4) and Dreamcatcher (1-4) were very fun modules. A continuing story line. Makes for a nice long adventure.
Midwinter Festival, Midsummer Knight's Dream, Midnight Calling were pretty good too. Can't remember if Midnight Calling is a stand alone or continuation of the first two, but I enjoyed them iirc!

I get an exe installer for Darkness Over Daggerford at NWNVault. Is there a Mac version of this or a work around?
