A few months ago I dug out a old copy that was in good condition. Installed it, and blew my mind away. It's a 10 year old game and the aliens still look bleeping detailed!

Now only if their was a patch to run it flawlessly in os x. :glare:

Edit: was on a G4 tower and booted into os 9.

there was a "patch" which worked alright.
Not flawless, by any means, and far from intel, but it worked...

We won! Apple offer the 17" with a matte screen! Well... at a price...

Where is that patch? I'd like to play Unreal again in PPC OSX.

I tried installing the patch but it doesn't work for me. Don't remember the URL.

Just play it in Classic, using MacGlide.

Its not so much a patch as a vaguely illegal copy of the game (I had to download it, but found Unreal mac on ebay to assuage my guilt in doing so) which had somehow magically been constructed from the smouldering remains of Unreal, UT '99 and the OS X preview patch for UT '99, like a phoenix rising from the ashes...

Im sure I've got the disc about somewhere and we can figure out exactly what files are needed so that you could use the assets from the Unreal disc and play the game. I remember helping out Lord Brixton do the same thing a good few years ago.

So then, given the mild potential for massive illegality, shall we continue?

Gotta keep this thread alive. Anyone who can find screenshots bigger then the previous 2, post them. As long as they can fit the page.

Well, I've got a legit copy of Unreal and UT '99 and the OSX preview patch is free which I've already used to patch UT '99 with. I can't see anything illegal in combining the files of two games I've already purchased. PM me the instructions if you would be so kind.

Oh boy I dunno the exact combo of what files from what disc and whatnot. Id have to take a good long time to look at each file, compare, contrast and then try and give you a list.

It'd be way easier for me to upload the system folder, app and whatever else it was that was needed.

Either way, I'll dig out the discs and see what the craic is.

It's an old copy, and you will not get the exact patch.

I've got all the copies of Unreal ever made for the Mac. I still think UT99 is the best, but the original Unreal will always have a soft spot in my heart. I remember firing it up on a Mac Voodoo2 card and being blown away. Fog, reflections, water. I remember walking out into the first outdoor environment with the bunnies, and the fish, and the cliff and waterfall in the distance and just freaking out. It was really a major leap. And I still have the disk and I still play it. #rocks#

GASP! I'll have to fix that. I see tBC's memory is still as sharp as ever.
