I'm looking for a new PC game to play in my spare time. I'm really itching for something Sci-fi, or at the very least mostly modern day. Shooter, RPG, whatever.
Dont be afraid to state things that seem obvious since i dont keep a list of the games ive missed (of which there are likely dozens and dozens) though i did just finish DoW2 last (excellent SP, MP.. not nearly as good as the first one)

…That should be enough for now.

If you want a shooter, it kind of depends upon what type of FPS person you are. As in the Haloesque, go in guns blazing, Arm A, one shot and you're dead, or something in between, like Call of Duty.

DEAD SPACE!
Best survival horror game EVER, and best of all it's sci-fi. Beat the game four times last year and I just started my fifth playthrough this week. Granted that's on the PS3, but I'm sure the PC version is as good or better.

When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

I just started playing Beyond Good & Evil. I've only played a few hours but from what I have seen so far both the story and the characters are great. It is a bit old but on the other hand you can get your hands on it for almost nothing. Worth checking out.
Also, I agree on both Mass Effect and Dead Space. Awesome games. Had to put away Dead Space for a few days before I could get myself to finish it. It's creepy as hell.

Well if you've already beaten ME, then I second the Orange Box recommendation, especially Half Life. You've got HL 2, HL2:E1, and E2 which will give you loads of sci-fi shooter awesomeness with a decent story line
Has anyone tried the STALKER games, I hear that they are quite good

These are some slightly old threads I have dug up: here, and here.

If you like PC games, play Roller Coaster Tycoon, and if you like Browser games, then play Glory Of Fellowland.
