I'm also available to answer any questions, including those with regards to the maximum GPU clock speeds that this particular model can manage.
Thanks!

Nope
I'm afraid this post fails the Spam test.

A "writing miasma"? Aren't you selling me a bit short?
Anyway, I relisted the MacBook Pro one more time--this time at $999. It's not getting any cheaper!

Is your current MBP a stock 2.8 ?? I'm just wondering how much of an OC you can do and still stay in the heat boundries, as I'm looking at buying a unibody MBP in a few weeks

For instance, most XBox ports are shader bound on the MacBook Pro, since both the 8600M GT and 9600M GT only have 32 shader units. Therefore, it usually makes sense to blow the hell out of the shader clock at the expense of all other variables.
By the way, if you're buying a new MacBook Pro, you'll definitely be able to do better than I can on the CPU overclock, since newer MacBook Pros feature the 25W TDP P-series Penryn (versus 35W TDP T-series Penryn).

I see, I'm actually going refurb for my MBP, so the 1st gen unibody is an option that I might get. How easy (if possible) is it to upgrade the newer MBP's HDD and RAM ? I know that it is quite easy in the 1st gen unibodies, but does the built in battery change things in the newer ones?

Well I need to sell the laptop in my sig ASAP to get the most resale value for it. If I do buy a refurb MBP and use it for a few months I'm positive that I can sell it for nearly what I paid for it, and then save up a few hundred for bucks to buy the latest MBP with whatever GPU it has.
That said I'm not sure what GPU they are going to use. Nothing new as far as mobile GPU's has come out recently. They might use the GTX 280M, but its name is very misleading - the performance is around that of a 8800 GT. I would like to see the 4870 mobile in a MBP, but its a real shame that ATI's new 5xxx series won't have anything out in the next few months for laptops, and Nvidia's GT 300 stuff is still months away from release

Going on the TDPs of the parts as seen on wikipedia, the 9600M GT runs at 23 Watts, which equates to the 240M which probably comes out roughly the same in terms of performance... The 250M is only 28W, but since Apple already love to underclock their GPUs, I wouldn't hold out much hope.
Maybe ATI's GPUs are more efficient, but Apple seem to have a good relationship with NV right now, and I don't expect them to bust that up any time soon.
So really, I don't see much coming out of any changes that Apple make in the immediate future. As for the next generation of mobile GPUs, all we can do is hope that both ATI and NV manage to come out with some really competitive but low heat parts.
Macbook Pro - C2D 2.4Ghz / 4Gb RAM / WD Scorpio Black 320GB ( 255GB OSX v 42GB XP ) / Geforce 8600M GT 256Mb / 15.4"
Cube - G4 1.7Ghz 7448 / 1.5Gb RAM / Samsung Spinpoint 250GB / Geforce 6200 256Mb
We won! Apple offer the 17" with a matte screen! Well... at a price...
