Just finished "Fable: The Lost Chapters"--some thoughts Does anyone else think "boasts/achievements" are a cop-out?

I just finished Fable: TLC and I found that while it was enjoyable, it wasn't quite $50 worth of enjoyment (which is good because I bought it on eBay for about $25). I found that the basic game is just too easy. You do, however, have the option of adding difficulty by trying to earn "boasts" for each quest in the game (like not getting hit at all, doing the whole quest naked, not letting anyone get hurt, etc.). I gather that this is parallel to the "achievements" you can try to earn in other games (like Halo 3?).
I don't have a whole lot of experience with this formula for gameplay, so maybe I'm talking out of my neck here, but it seems like a little bit of a cop-out on the part of the designers--a way to add playtime without adding content, I guess.
What do you guys think? Pros and cons? Specific examples of good and bad uses of this idea? I'm just curious and wondering if there's a consensus.

It basically is, but keep in mind that Fable TLC predates the established achievement/trophies system that has become so popular on current consoles. So it's not quite as "polished".

I don't mind the boasts. I just used the ones that wouldn't hinder my planned strategy for a quick boost in popularity and the like. The real challenge is more to do with exploring outside the main story and opening demon doors as well as collecting silver keys.
Thankfully there are no achievement/trophies as I find them pointless and stupid. These useless points don't see me playing any games more than I would if they never existed in the 1st place and only feel like something thrown in to make selective people feel like their gaming suddenly has some new significance as they are now given virtual smiley stickers for their gaming.

Time Stop and Force Push ... ok who wants some?
I liked the game, was pretty good from start to finish, a bit easy yeah, and boasts were sort of annoying, that I didn't do many of them at all.
Although Fable was a good fluid and changing RPG... it doesn't hold a candle to Oblivion. I havn't played Fable 2 yet, but I will when I get around to it.

Physical Shield and Heal are the only spells you ever need in Fable. Then you just take a sodding great sword / Divine .. Fury? (AoE spell), and bish bash bosh, Bob's your mother's brother.

I'm actually TOO good at both TMFPPG and Fable:TLC.
I sleep in a BBEdit T-shirt, but I'm a TextMate user.

Divine Fury and Physical Shield with these two spells and as many spell points as possible is all you need to completely rule everything in this world.
But there is more than one way to kick ass in Fable.
