I've just bought a lovely new macbook pro, 15inch, 2.8Ghz with the 256 & 512 gfx cards.
I wasn't expecting any problems running WoW but have issues when certain spells don't display correctly. I've moved the most obvious sliders up and down to change the level of details etc but seen no difference. Can anyone advise on what i should do, am wondering if i should check how the gfx card is working correctly but don't know how to.
Have also posted on the blizzard forum:

Also the gamma on a mac seems so so bright, practically lurid in places in WoW - again any hints on the best way to get a screen that doesn't show so much yellow?
Many thanks.

Like J said, make sure you open up the System Preferences program, go to the Energy Saver screen, and Graphics is set to "Higher Performance".
To troubleshoot WoW, you'll want to open up the WoW folder, trash the "caches" folder. You may want to trash the WTF folder but keep in mind it will erase all your WoW settings/macros/mod settings.
What do you mean certain spells don't display correctly? They don't show at all? Or show in some garbled mess?
I always had the game use Desktop Gamma and it looked vibrant and great to me.

The spells like blizzard only showed like 3 ice shards falling - the sound played as usual bit nothing to see, same with the hunters volley.
I switched to the higher spec mode when on power and then deleted the cache and WTF folder (after making a backup just to be safe).
Back in business - excellent advice guys.
Reloaded and 100% success - many many thanks
