Michael Jackson, one of the biggest pop stars ever died yesterday from a heart attack. He's had a damned difficult last 5-6 years, whether he deserved it or not, and its sad that he didn't manage to do even a few of the gigs that were part of his residency in London as a sort of farewell.
Also, Farrah Fawcett, of Charlie's Angels fame, finally lost her 3 year struggle with cancer.
On the whole, quite a black day.

Not a fan of his music, but he was obviously talented & I kinda liked how he came across in the interviews I saw. Sad both had to go before their time & for MJ just before a major tour after all the preparatory work he must have put in.
Was also sad to see recent video of Neda shot dead in Iran + other deaths. Just sad that many decent people die well before their time.

Too bad about Farrah. I guess after 3 years battling cancer I'd be ready to go belly up too.

I'm a huge 80s fan, and MJ is total 80s. Absolutely love his stuff... like many 80s classics it'll never get old to me. It's... unfortunate?, some directions he took in his personal life. But, I'll gladly celebrate his career as a fantastic artist. He had some of the best music videos of all time as well.
Very sorry to see Farrah and especially Ed McMahon go too.
Ed McMahon and Johnny Carson will never have equals on late night shows, those two were hilarious as hell and full of personality.

When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

I completely agree with the MJ stuff, (I cannot say for the others as I don't really know who they are). I think that MJ's videos are the best I have seen.

I wish this wasn't true and i could wake up from it...
I have a collection of 80s (& some 90s) film clips I got from iTunes when I 1st got my iMac and I agree MJ's are the best.
I even loved the Moonwalker games growing up and finish the arcade and both Master System & Mega Drive versions. I had no idea there was a C64 Moonwalker too, until discovering the internet of course so never had a chance to play that one.

Something to note here, it was Johnny Carson who did all of the heavy drinking even though he joked about it being Ed McMahon. I spent many a late night watching endless commercials just to catch a sketch or two of comedy gold.
[edit] AND AS LONG AS WE ARE LISTING THE RECENTLY DEAD, BILLY MAYS WAS FOUND DEAD IN HIS HOME THIS MORNING. I HAVEN'T FOUND A SITE THAT LISTS THE CAUSE OF DEATH. IT'S A SLAUGHTERHOUSE OUT THERE!
