Tried auto updating the "old" cod folder and using those PB files. No good.

The old PunkBuster files are not Intel-native libraries, so they will *deifnitely* not work.

The issue with the "No Packet Flow" is that the servers you are joining do not know about the new Mac Punkbuster libraries for this update, and the new version of CoD won't work with the old ones. It's a slight Catch-22, but it'll be fixed when the retail patch is released.

I'm going to go ahead and ask Tony at EvenBalance to push out the new Mac Punkbuster libraries so that all the PC servers can start to get updated. Once this happens, Mac users running the non-Universal Binary Call of Duty will be unable to play once they join, but that should be a problem only for the next week or so.

Me too - I hope it gets out the door before Brad changes jobs.

We could just play non-pb servers. But they all suck.

I'm beginning to wonder if we're going to see the retail patch at all, anymore.

Well, I do have Digital Download (AHEM, LOYAL PAYING CUSTOMER), and while it's all good, the only snag is PB breaking. So it won't work anyway. Yeah, the fix should be out soon, I hope, but it's also up to evenbalance to release a PB fix.

And peeps, it IS FAST on Intel!!!

When it works...

Must be a hell of an installer bug to take so long. :P

Also, what's the status on a Call of Duty 2 update?

Actually, we had the same problems with PunkBuster that the digital download version has, so we opted to wait for working PB libraries That fix appears to be here now, so the patch should be coming very shortly.

Until the new PB libraries appear on the EvenBalance site, I've posted them here for those folks who bought the digital download version:

http://www.brad-oliv...uster_v1729.zip

Download, replace the existing files in your "pb" folder next to the app and delete the "pb" cache folder in "~/Library/Application Support/Call of Duty"

CoD2 Update:

Snow Leopard improved the jittery framerate, although the performance is way below what I'd consider normal for a 9600M GT.  I think the problem still exists, just not as noticeable as before.

You'll have to post some diagnostic messages, because the issue appears to be solved for me here. Did you delete the "pb" folder in your home directory in ~/Library/Application Support/Call of Duty (or CoD United Offensive) ? If not, you must do that otherwise you'll still be using a cached older version of the PunkBuster client library.

If that's been done, I'd suggest enabling the in-game console from the options menu. While playing you'll be able to pull it up with the tilde key. When you first launch Call of Duty, open the console at the main menu: you should see a message about PunkBuster and the client version number. Write that down.

Then when you join a Punkbuster server, open up the console and note the PunkBuster messages - they should be in cyan. In particular, you'll see a message about the PunkBuster server version number for the PC. When you get kicked from that server, it should give you a reason why: that message will be key in determining if the problem is on your end or theirs.

Also, note if you are trying with United Offensive or vanilla Call of Duty.

Sorry for not giving more specifics; wasn't sure what to provide.

UO. Yup, deleted pb as directed.

Weird. I restarted, and it asked to enable punkbuster (yes), and all seems well for now?

OK, downloaded the new PB files from Brad's earlier message. Still cannot get mod and map downloads to works from any server. At that point, I have to force quit out of the game.
I'm seriously frustrated by this. I did check my firewall settings to allow connections for COD UO MP and  COD MP.

Yeah, it sounds like your "pb" cache folder was still being used the prior time you ran it. Once you wipe it and restart CoD, you should be prompted to enable pb in that exact way.
