Atm, I'm copying my iTunes folder from my 17" iMac onto an external HD, with plans to copy it over the iTunes folder on my new 24" iMac.
Am I going to run into any problems?

Unless there is data corruption, you probably will not. Just keep in mind that it might take a while to copy, if you have a large library like I do. I have 50 GB + of stuff. It took a very long time to copy.
