So, I downloaded W:ET in order to get some old school shooting done... But for the love of god, I can't find a decent server without a b***load of mods being installed! I mean, now my default loading screen has a picture of a chick bending over, dressed in a short latex dress.. O_o

And the rest usually kicks me, doesn't download the mods, or just crashes the game.

Does anyone know of a plain server, where I can just play the normal game?

I remember having this problem a few years ago. Unfortunately that was the last time I played, so can't really help.

I did end up on one server though that played Rammstein's "We're all living in America" whenever the Axis won, which was pretty funny.

Actually, when I showed her my background screen she said "Thats the shortest dress I've ever seen." and afterwards when I said "She was even wearing nylons!", her response was "Nylons? Didn't see that. I could only see the G-string that was all over the screen!"

After I first got DSL I went through a phase of trying to find a good online server to play in a variety of shooters I had where before I was only able to play the solo game. It was like I did a swan dive into a pile of elephant crap. All I could find was servers I was banned from (although I had never been on any servers before), servers that were password locked, servers that were loaded with cracks or servers that consisted of bored asswipes camped on a spawn point team killing everybody, or laid up in a wall hack or other indeterminate location with infinite ammo sniping spawners and getting kills in the thousands. I never once found a server where people played the game. After about a month I gave up and I never looked back. If you want to play on a server you need to find some trusted friends in real life who want to have some honest fun then lock everybody else out with a password.

I remember having this very problem with Wolfenstein ET a year or 2 ago. I think MacAddict was still running a server, where I was actually able to play once or twice.

This game is definitely more free kittens than free beer.

btw, load screens, added sounds, etc are pk3 files that aren't obvious maps
