Portal alone is worth that purchase. HL2 is good, though – in my opinion – overrated, but for $10 definitely a recommendation.

Yeah, portal is a wicked little fun game. TF2 is pretty awesome for online gamers. And the half lifes are a good run through as well. Well worth $9.99 for all of that though. I bought it.

(This is for anyone who's not planning on buying the OB this weekend, or misses the sale. You're much better off getting the full package otherwise.)

If you don't have any of the games, the full-full gold or silver packages have every Valve game or every Valve Source-engine game, respectively. You might want to wait for a sale, though. At Christmas/New Year I think it was 20% off or something, and that's a ton of games.

It's a single level, built to test the HDR additions to the Source engine a few years ago. It's good, but obviously not very extensive. It's available free to anyone who owns HL2.

Its single flaw is that its relatively short, I think I managed a second run through (literally) in 2 hours, but thats the problem with a puzzle based game, once youve figured it out the first time its easy the second time.
Any sequel they may or may not release this year is going to be fan-dabby-tastic

Thankfully there are the advanced maps, that – while being only variants of the original levels – are in parts bloody hard.
