Is it possible to use PC save files on the Mac version? The reason I'm asking, is that I have 'found' a ciderised edition of Baldurs Gate 1, and since I don't own a Mac OS 9 machine, my BG Mac CD's are a bit useless...

So, would I be able to import BG1 PC saves into BG2 Mac (Which does run quite nice on OSX), and continue playing with my characters?

It should work just fine. There's no reason really to import from BG saved games, but you can if you want.

I myself haven't tried it (I can boot OS 9, and the fully patched up Mac BG1 port is really nice) but there's something called Balder's Gate 1 to 2 (BG1tutu, as it's called) that lets you run BG1 with the TotSC expansion under the BG2 engine (sort of like how M1A1 let's you run the original Marathon under the Aleph One engine.) It says it allows you to play full campaigns from BG1 all the way through BG2 to ToB and accepts Mac or Winblows installation of BG1/TotSC, so those Mac BG1 discs might not be so useless after all. The simplest way to run it is probably Mac EasyTutu.

Also, though I presume you've already played them some, I strongly recommend getting all the 3rd-party fixpack mods to patch up all the in-game scripting bugs and typos in both games.

I know all about TuTu, and it still requires me to have Mac OS 9, to install and update BG1.

The ciderised edition im currently playing, is TuTu'd btw.
