I've been trying to find an application that changes modifier keys in OS X depending on which process is in the foreground. Because of the way the keyboard is laid out, in some games (WoW in particular) it is far more natural to use command and option for hotkeys due to thumb placement. However because they are Windows ports (which only has ctrl and option as modifiers), only ctrl and option are supported.
You can get around this neatly by changing the modifier keys assignment in system preferences so that command functions as ctrl, and so on, but this is a giant pain in the ass to do every time you game and every time you want to return to your normal OS X keybinds.
Anyone know of an application that will read modifier keys different ways depending on what program is running? Much thanks.

Cant you change the key bindings within WoW?
if not, thats pretty short sighted by Blizzard.
Anyway, I dont know of any app that does this, sorry. The only one I can think of that has this in mind is Double Command, but I dont think it works on an app by app basis.
