Oh my fire trucking god: I've got that damn song stuck in my head, constantly repeating itself.
I'm pretty sure it will soon start eating my brains out! Curse you, PopCap!

The Zombie song was truely painful, but that awful German gummy bear track is pure evil.

My girlfriend actually LOVES that tune. Can you believe that?!?

Got the game today. It's nice to have had the early access and a slight discount because I've subscribed to the game's newsletter. Anyway, I've only played it a little bit so far, but it's quite fun already. Instead of the usual "get resources by killing enemies" fare you have to actually harvest the power of the sun. Sunflowers and similar vegetation are very helpful (and necessary) to gather more sun energy faster. That energy can be spent on all your flower needs. Some plants (or some that mascarade as such) I've come across so far: the frozen pea shooters, spud mines, "wall"nuts, zombie-eating plants, cherry bombs, gaseous fungi, etc.

What should be noted about the gameplay: before each stage you're shown what type of zombies to expect. This comes quite handy because you can only choose a total of six of all the different plant types (more of which are unlocked as you progress) to get you through the stage.

There are three other different modes besides adventure mode, which need to be unlocked by playing the latter. I'm not sure yet whether the money some zombies drop later on will be used for that or not. I guess Crazy Dave will tell me soon enough once I've reached the first total sum cited.

So, yeah, I'm having good fun with it.

Shame the Mac trial link just downloads the Win trail. Oh well. 500MB is a little too much bandwidth anyway...

Oh, weird. That's actually true for all PopCap games. Have they messed with their site?

Odd. When I downloaded the demo the site recognized I had a Mac and took me directly to the Mac page where the download link was correct.

Anyway, to make up for all that ... you can get a 10% discount on the price if you use the coupon code PLANTS10 during checkout.

PS. Loving this game like Peggle.

Well, I see the same – up to the download link. That leads (for all PopCap games) to the Windows setup.exe, although it reads "Mac, 28.1 MB DMG-file".

Thanks for the code!
The hour trial wasn't enough so I had to get the game in the end.

You're welcome. I thin the code is only good until the 15th so use it now if you are considering it.
