I am going to sell my BenQ 22" LCD monitor to my sisters boyfriend and buy a 24" screen.
Any suggestions for a 24" at a good price, and a price at which to sell the 22" without ripping him off, and without ripping me off. Looking at nothing more than $500 AU so i'm not losing too much money on my old display.

From what I have seen of 24" screen prices, is that it might be hard to buy on under $500, at least you should be able to sell the 22" for about $250 to maybe $300, or so, although you might need to drop the price as it will be second hand.
By the way, StaticIce, CentreCom, and others.

Theyre all pricks at centrecom, but they are cheap. BenQ 24" for 370 or higher end models for 450.
Green guide is out tommorow. Should hold some answers.
Anyone got any advice on this 16:9 vs 16:10 thing? Your not gaining anything by having a smaller ratio yes? so 16:10 is better for computing? Any anyone reccomend any brands? This BenQ has been pretty popsnizzle (although improved with leopard) but they offer some really full featured screens for cheap. Also looking towards Samsung, haven't looked at pricing yet though... and dell, theyre harder to find cheap though.

I have a Samsung T220 HD which is a 22" screen with half a dozen inputs on the back. I have DVI, VGA, component, tv-tuner, 2 HDMI, optical and headphone sound in and headphone out. It's perfect for my setup which has my homebuild and PS3 on it all the time and occasionally cable in and a laptop. The built in speakers kinda suck but I usually game with a headset. Colour is excellent (in my amatuer opinion).
they make a 24" version, the T240 HD. Only downside of this screen is price, its about $350 CDN. see here for details

if you care about the panel that goes into the screen you buy, then youll want to look here.
The rest of the site has a bunch of really in depth reviews of screens, articles about the differences between TN, PVA and IPS screens and a bunch of other stuff, some of which is starting to go out of date, but still broadly applies. I recommend an IPS panel, simply for being the best (its what Apple uses most of the time), but PVA is a decent middle ground, whilst TN is junk apart from getting blistering fast response times (comparatively).
So, find a decently priced screen, check in the inputs etc. etc. then look to see what panel it has in there, and do some other research on forums to see if theres major issues or anything...
Then plonk the cash down.

Looking in terms of price, i think I'm going to shoot for the BenQ V2400W. Supposedly not too bright, but makes up for it with an excellent contrast ratio and a nice design. Now i just need to sell this thing.

Hmmmm, i can get the G2400WD for 100 bucks cheaper... anyone know if the V2400W would be worth the extra hundred? or is it just a better design?
