I have a black macbook w/ x3100 intel iintegrated, 4gb ram, mac osx 10.5.6
and I have call of duty and when I try to run the 1.5 update, it stays at installing pbsv.mac forever, so I just have to use the 1.4 update instead.

apparently the updater for CoD 1.5c wasn't compatible with Leopard, the same prob occurred on my PowerMac running Leopard,
my solution: install CoD and run the updater on my iMac running Tiger and copy it over to my MacBook, and that worked!

Hi. I had the same problem. My HD is split in two partitions. I started on the second one where OS X 10.4 is installed and I then had no problem to run the update. Then back to the 10.5.6 partition and the games works in it's new version.
Hope that can help even though I don't know why it's impossible to update under 10.5.

Yeah, the 1.5c patcher was Java based and it broke in the 10.4.x OS cycle unfortunately. If you can keep your pants on for a few more weeks, the new Universal Binary patch will take care of it.
