Hey guys,
I just thought I'd let you know that we over at binkworks(http://www.binkworks.com/) recently released our first game: 'Boston - Mouse in the Sewer'.

Boston features both 3rd person and first person gameplay, and four levels of rat-shooting, roach-stomping fun.
Best of all, it's free. :nods:

You are Boston, an escaped lab mouse with a tragic past and a wicked skill set. Though you prefer to be left alone, you have no choice but to respond when a friend in need comes calling. Turns out you weren’t the only mouse who escaped from that lab, and the other ones aren’t as peaceful as you are… There are rats, a cat, and even a human that have gone and hurt your friends. Stupid… now they have to deal with Boston.

Oh, and if you like it, be sure to go vote for it.
Boston is an entry in the udevgames '09 contest. Drop by http://www.udevgames.com/vote/ to vote for this and other great games.

(If this shouldn't be here, let me know and I'll take my posts elsewhere. )

Sounds cool and i like the idea of 1st/3rd perspective. I'll choose 1st, of course...when it's done downloading anyhow! :)
Thanks!!

As long as this is a Mac action or shooter game then it's fine. Good luck!

@Boston.

I so don't wanna be insulting but by writing on this BBS I'm assuming you want critique so here's mine ....

The game's as buggy as hell.
None of the keybinds work.
You click OPTIONS on the menuscreen & are greeted with a blank screen.
Ya go in the water & it's just like you're walking around regular.
The viewswitch only works once in a while.
The reticule's wonky.
And is the object of the game just ta walk in a tunnel & shoot roaches & BadMice?

The graphics are very very nice.
Good use of UNITY !

Thanks a bunch for the comments.

#1: What do you mean? If you set up the various keys in the startup dialog('Input' tab), they don't work?
#2: Yes, I haven't added any options yet. I should probably remove that button.
#3: I'm intermittently working on a new build, and have added this. Thanks for the tip.
#4: You can't go into FPS while you have melee selected: is this the problem?
#5: What do you mean? It's too sensitive?
#6: Yeah, kind of. There is a way to finish the level, if that's what you mean, but there's not really any kind of quest or mission besides that.

Thanks!

Sorry sorry for the late response !

No, they don't.

Okey-Doke! I thought somethin' was wrong with my MacBook! lol 8^ ]

Coolnessosity!

#4: You can't go into FPS while you have melee selected: is this the problem?
Not to be unclear but I'm not sure.
And thank you for mentioning that because it clears up my question and reminds me of another bug.
I can't tell if I'm in Melee Mode -- everything switches back & forth on it's own or it doesn't click ....
I'm sorry that I can't be clearer -- it's just very unintuitive & confusing.

#5: What do you mean? It's too sensitive?
The slightest input on the trackpad sends the reticule flying all over the place.

#6: Yeah, kind of. There is a way to finish the level, if that's what you mean, but there's not really any kind of quest or mission besides that.
OK -- I wasn't sure.
I was under the impression that you had to escape from the sewer then hit the streets of Boston proper -- I was kinda lookin' forward to that.

You're obviously a very good coder.
If a dummy like me can make a suggestion -- something the Macintosh gaming community and UNITY could both use.
Something World War II themed -- like an FPS or a flightsimulator.

#1: That is weird; I don't think I have any control over that. I will look into it.
#4: Yes, it is. I forgot to assign a 'switch weapons' button that made sense, and so for right now, 'switch weapon' is the MMB(click, not scroll, which is bad).
#5: Whoa. I will add a sensitivity setting
#6: You do get to exit the sewer and play in the basement, but the basement level is reeaaallly slow. This should also be fixed in the next build.

Again, thanks for the feedback.

Nice work Boston, you have the beginnings of a very promising game there. I like what you've done.

That's some pretty incoherent posts you are producing, my friend.

I've already warned him about that. I think he is pissed that nobody can help him with his Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets thread.
