When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

but yeah, this is taking forever and I dont care anymore. I enjoyed playing through Gears on PC, and would like to see Gears 2 on PC too cos I cant be bothered with X360 for a single game, and UT3 was 'meh' in the first place, so I got tired of it very quickly. The Titan pack doesnt look like its going to fix my problems with it, so Ill take another look when UT3.5 comes around.
UT is the game industry's answer to the Star Trek films. Except here its the even releases that suck arse.
Macbook Pro - C2D 2.4Ghz / 4Gb RAM / WD Scorpio Black 320GB ( 255GB OSX v 42GB XP ) / Geforce 8600M GT 256Mb / 15.4"
Cube - G4 1.7Ghz 7448 / 1.5Gb RAM / Samsung Spinpoint 250GB / Geforce 6200 256Mb
We won! Apple offer the 17" with a matte screen! Well... at a price...

By the way, tBC, Eric, if you are there, maybe this should be moved to the FPS subforum?

For me, this is the last bastion that Windows has for me. Once Unreal Tournament 3 is unleashed on Mac, the Windows is going bye-bye.
I emailed them a few months ago and decided to email them again. The email is support@destineerstudios.com

No release date at the moment. Yes, I know we're already 16 months late.
I'm sorry, we'll get you the game as soon as we can.
Thanks for your eternal patience,

In any case I just looked at the page on UTIII in Desinteer Studios and it seems like they are still saying spring, unless there is some press release I am missing.
Thanks, Liberator.

You misinterpreted the date. That isn't a launch date. March 12, 09 was when Ryan made those comments. I recently emailed Macsoft and they also directed me to Ryan's comments.
Overall, I think they were probably waiting for the Titan Pack to be released which is a pretty good idea to have it included since it saves bandwidth for both Macsoft and customers from having to download the 1GB expansion. I'm sure the release of the recent desktop lineup didn't help matters if they had to retest everything to support them on launch, especially the new HD4xxx GPUs. Hopefully they are just waiting for the UTIII 2.1 patch which is currently in beta testing to go gold and for 10.5.7 to be released which may have graphics driver and OpenGL tweaks to help with the optimization issues Ryan was talking about.
I'm thinking a launch in May so that it's ready for the summer holidays and could serve as a performance demo at WWDC if Apple decides to show benchmarks demonstrating the performance improvements of Snow Leopard over Leopard. I wonder if there any chance the delay was because they are going to surprise us with a 64-bit version to coincide with Snow Leopard's 64-bit kernel and the shift in focus to 64-bit development? Ryan has said before that he might do a 64-bit Linux client if he has spare time and there aren't middleware issues, so it'd be nice if the Mac gets the same treatment.

Lots of loops for them to jump through to please the Mac crowd....and I know how laid back we are about our software.

He's saying they waited a year and a half after the PC release to get five OS updates and the Titan update they didn't know they were doing, because we would have complained if it had been done before the Titan pack we didn't know about or the five OS updates that likely have nothing to do with anything.
I think it's a load of hoeey, though. They promised it for Spring 2010 and it's almost here!
