Got Red Faction back when it was new. :D

In fact, I was just playing that again recently.
Fun shooter but I don't know who I hated more, the idiot brainfart I was or the horrible woman I worked for.  PARKER!! Did you send that message like I told you to?? And is that BLOOD you just walked though?? I just mopped this bunker!!  Later that night: PARKER!!!!  Not with THAT fork!  Even Later: PARKER!!! You're on my hair!  And stop doing that I'm not going to do that.

Me: "SHUT UP!!  SHUT UP YOU SOUL EATING, PENIS SHRIVELING, ABSTINENCE INSPIRING, WHARF SHRIEKING FISH WIFE!!!"

I wanted to bash the Red Faction guy in the face with his own stupidity, only with like... nails pounded into it, but first I just want to break off the last 6 inches of that torpedo shaped snot box Eos calls a nose and beat her to death with it.

Summed up my thoughts EXACTLY. Gameplay was still fun, though.

I want some more games to play on this screaming G5. I'm loving shredding Doom 3 and Quake 4 on ultra quality, but I need more.

What are all the good action and shooter titles from say 2004 to 2009 that will run on a PowerPC machine?

I have Halo, Unreal Tournament 2004, Star Wars: Battlefront, Doom 3, Quake 4, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Rainbow Six: Raven Shield, and Soldier of Fortune 2 already, and I intend to get Call of Duty 2. What else is out there that was cool?

For that matter, if there are any good non-shooters from recently I'd love to hear about those too. Got C&C Generals Deluxe covered under strategy and I intend to nab Civilization 4 and Age of Empires III. RTSes, RPGs, whatever there is, I'm interested.

You might try these also...

Tron 2.0
Dungeon Siege
Age of Mythology
Rune
Bauldurs Gate I or II
Fallout I or II
Heavy Metal FAKK 2
Alice

Have fun!!

I'll second Prey and Penumbra, and add American McGee's Alice and World of Padman to the list.

Starcraft and Black & White were games I never tried but might be good.

Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness is a very interesting change of pace for the series.

I'm sure with your setup, you could max everything to the limits and get quite an immersing experience. Be sure to get the patch

Okay, shoot. I picked up NOLF 2 cheap and tried to install it, but the installer just starts up, the icon appears in the dock, it does nothing for about 5 seconds, and then quits itself.

Any suggestions?  :glare:

This game looks pretty fun too, I want to play it.

Yeah, I guess I'll try that. And if it's some incompatibility with Tiger (more likely) I suppose I could install it on my Wallstreet PBG3 which is running... running... Puma? No... Panther?

haha, yeah... a G3 running NOLF 2, thatd be the day.

In fact, it might have been the G5 screwing up NOLF 2 a lot of the time. I dunno, do a decent forum search and you might find some nugget of gold that gets it working for you. My half-arsed attempt didnt really dig up anything.

I don't have a patch for NOLF 1, there might not be one, I don't remember.  You can download the NOLF 2 patch here.  I'll leave the link up for 24 hours and then remove it.

I dont think there were any NOLF 1 patches, it came out several years after the PC version, so was already patched up.
NOLF 2, though, was and is really damned buggy, and never got the patches that it needed.

Good lord, NOLF is a long game! I've been playing for a good while and I just checked and I'm only maybe halfway through.

This is a good thing, of course. I hate short games.

Not to worry, Frost!  8^ ]

The "2009 Game Of The Year" is coming in about a year -- for Macintosh -- "Wofenstein".
Mother of Jesus is it gonna rock ....

It addresses a popular theme in UFO circles as of late.
Since the 20s, the German secret society -- "The Thule Society" -- has been in contact with
interdimensional entities that -- among other things -- gave them the plans for a flying disc: the Hanabu.

Posted Image
Hanabu TestFlight Over Germany

The tech came to it's fruition after World War II -- hence "Operation: PaperClip" & that's what "Wolfenstein" will deal with: the Nazi topsecret projects division.
TimeTravel, AG, ID Portals, EM weaponry -- stuff like that.

And "QuakeLIve" for Macintosh will be here probably before the year's out, too !  8^ ]

I was a couple scenes before the Safecracker mission last night. Now I'm one scene past the motorcycle ride after the train sequence (which was my favorite part of the game, BTW!).

I just want to say that the last room of the safecracker mission was satanic. I spent like 3 or 4 minutes memorizing the patterns of the lasers, but even having done that and timed a way to run through 90% of them right off the bat, I still had to reload about eight times because I kept getting tagged by lasers right near the door. Jeez.

EDIT: An odd side effect of playing so much NOLF is that the last several days I'm constantly hearing in my head: "Doo doo dee doo dee doo deet doo... dooo doo dee doo dee doo dee dooo.. body up, bo-bo-body down. Body up, bo-bo-body down. Body up, bo-bo-body down. Doo deee dee dee, da da da dee dee dee...  body up, bo-bo-body down."
