Recommend me some good Adventure games for the Mac (specifically my iMac). Even if they are old, I may not have played them. I'm just trying to make sure I haven't missed anything  . No Windows games only please. I appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Rich :cool2:

Anything from LucasArts (playable via ScummVM), Ankh 1 and 2 (Ankh 3 is announced), Jack Keane, A Vampyre Story (just released).

ScummVM is really your saviour here.

as Janichsan said, anything from Lucasarts is playable, all pre-Broken Sword 3 games from Revolution (Beneath a Steel Sky is released free, but I recommend picking up BS1+2 because theyre both excellent).

I dont really know much about more modern releases though....

OK. Thanks all. I'll have to check into ScummVM - I know nothing about it.

Thanks again,

Redjack was my favorite, but it probably doesn't run under OS X. I usually boot into OS 9 to play a lot of older adventure games like the Journeyman Project series, The Messenger, Dracula Resurrection, Dust, and Starship Titanic.

I absolutely agree. Monkey Island 2, Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis, Day of the Tentacle... ah, fond memories. If you ask me, the best adventure games ever. Broken Sword 1 & 2 are good, visually impressive, but a tad boring, to be honest. Lucasarts' games, well, they're hilarious. The spitting contest in MI2 alone is worth its weight in gold !

If you happen to have a Macintosh capable of running Classic then there are quite a few options. I would readily recommend Titanic: Adventure Out of Time, Redjack: Revenge of the Brethren, Beyond Atlantis, and the Journeyman Project series. In the event that you don't have Classic then you don't have quite as many options, but there are still a few titles worth looking into, such as the Deck13 games(Ankh, Jack Keane, etc.), the AGON episodic series, and the later Myst titles. The third Journeyman Project title, Legacy of Time, is also being re-released to run natively on OS X. You might also look into Coladia Games, as they're the only publisher I'm aware of that's currently actively porting Adventure games to the Mac. As has already been mentioned, SCUMMVM is an ideal option and more or less anything that runs on it tends to be worth playing.
