Must say it plays great on an 3.06 iMac full rez/detail.
The combat/war element is good, it makes the game a blend of B&W 1 with Warrior Kings with updated graphics.
At least your creature is a lot smarter.

Also, I didn't even know it was out. It's been coming for a while, but www.apple.com/games/articles lists it as "new" so it's a recent release. Must've been stealth released.

It's out a couple of weeks, shortly after the Macworld. Somehow, the actual release went pretty unnoticed.

We don't support GMA cards but you might get lucky on a X3100 you will get crazy graphics on a GMA 950.
The new MacBooks will run smooth as ice
Demo should be coming soon enough.

Feral now have all our demos (well most of the newer UA ones) on a new download server powered by bit torrent.

Official announcement is tomorrow morning but we have already noticed people who have found the site and are downloading!
Note the BW2 Demo and the Colin Online Demo are new. We should have a new ToCA demo coming online shortly as well.
Cheers,

But could it be that there is a (minor) glitch when using widescreen resolutions? I noticed that when hovering the mouse above the toolbar, buttons are highlighted that are slightly beside the pointer, dependent on the position on the screen. For instance, when the mouse pointer is on the right hand side of the screen, the button slightly to the right of the pointer is highlighted. When the pointer is on the left, it's the button slightly to the left.

Minor glitch in a Feral title? Never!
Cheers!

Being serious.. if you email support we can have someone have a look at it.

I really like that the creature is so much more useful in the sequel now that there is more direct control. In the original B&W it just felt more like work than fun dealing with your beasties, hence I never bothered actually completing that game. Overall, B&W2 seems to be a huge improvement over the first and much more enjoyable because of it. Not to mention, it runs great on the GeForce 9400M.

Ha! I'm not hallucinating! The glitch turned up again. I guess it has some connection to the tutorial mode since it only appears to happen when some button or the other is marked by this glittering effect. If I could I would post a screenshot, but it seems I can't take one – the resulting pictures are just black.

If the game has an options front panel then it has screenshot mode, I think this covers games back to F1 Championship Season. So not all games but if it was published in the last 4 or 5 years you should be fine.
I think this was added around the time of early OS X (10.1 era) as the screenshot feature was dodgy and often you got black screenshots or ones with massive tearing in it. I think XIII was the first title with full support for our built in screenshot but games and dates tend to merge together after a few years so I could be wrong
