Well, I've played some old games, like the Heroes of Might and Magic series, Kult, and Diablo II LOD, in the last few months, but here are some newer games that I'm really enjoying (for the Mac, but I think they all also have Windows versions):
Kivi's Underworld (Soldak)
Eschalon Book I (Basilisk)
Kudos Rock Legend (Red Marble)
Nethergate Resurrection (Spiderweb)
Fairy Tower Pinball (Littlewing)
Age of Empires III (with both expansions) (MacSoft)

The secret is to do all your reading and homework as soon as you can after the class lets out (even while riding the bus or eating or between classes). That way you are still in the right mindframe for the subject matter and less time/energy is need to get started and concentrate on it. Also, it will free up your week-ends instead of having to use them to frantically do all the stuff that is due on Monday! I'm serious; it worked well for me, and I had tons of reading, writing and translating due every day (English Writing/French double major with an extra translation certificate program added on).

Another interesting one, though only on PC at the moment is Crayon Physics. Not quite as good, but still quite satisfying in bringing things to life. The main weakness being mouse input instead of... crayon....
Im also slowly working towards finishing STALKER so that I can get onto the prequel which Ive bought and is waiting in the wings.
Im quite looking forward to a couple games too.
Demigod looks like it could kick ass. From the creators of Supreme Commander, which I loved.
DoW2 should also be ace.
Got to try the demo for FEAR2 to see if theyve got that right again.
And should Red Alert 3 really be heading to the mac by the end of march, thatll be fun too.

Currently playing Dead Space, which is quite good but doesn't make the top rank.
On the Mac side, not much going on for me since Fable-TLC which I thoroughly enjoyed, and CoD4 which for SP was nothing special, but I imagine would be great for online play.

It's on the iPhone as well. Haven't tried it, but seems to me that should largely take care of the main weakness?

Fired up the 360 and started playing. Finally broke down and resumed/started playing in earnest Oblivion with the expansions. As much as I dislike Oblivion (compared to Morrowind which is head and shoulders superior) it has completely sucked me in and I am compulsively playing it. Dead Space is sitting on the shelf waiting for me.
I keep looking at Civ 4. There it is, sitting on the little rack next to my laptop as I type this. Man... if I just pop Civ4 in the MBP Oblivion will get kicked to the curb hard and fast and I will lose the next three months of my life in a Civ4 binge. Dangerous game, Civ4 is. Must. Be. Strong. I want a time travel mod for Civ4, so I can dump money into a CERN world wonder, make a naked singularity, and then send technology back in time to myself so I can march through the bronze age with some M1 Abrams. That would just be fun!

Gaming on the Mac is still a lot of fun however limited the selection of titles may be.

Mass Effect seems to be calling my name however so I'll probably trade in COD4 to get it (I'm getting kinda bored of it, beat both the campaign and online soundly)

well, partly, but youre failing to take into account that people have got fingers quite a bit larger than the tip of your average crayon (where you can even use an edge to get a sharper line). Add to that the smaller screen...
colour me orange/blue stripes and call me an iPhone sceptic, but my limited experience with it has only shown Enigmo and a couple other games to be rather fiddly... Of course, its crayon based etc. and you can just delete what youve done, so that alleviates the potential issues.
anyway, I guess Ill have to try it before I make a decision, but Im better prepared to be pleased than disappointed with it.

Civ IV Warlords (In an epic PBEM game)
Hearts of Iron 2:Armageddon (A recent patch has allowed me to continue my game as Japan)
PC:
Portal
PS3:
Valkyria Chonicles (a turn based strategy game that does a great job tying in a rich story. I think it is one of the better titles out there for the ps3.)
DS:
Final Fantasy IV (pure nostalgia. I'm loving it.)

Fable – The Lost Chapters
16 hours in, trying to make all of the side quests, open magic doors and, well, go fishing.
The game is a lot of fun, even though it's quite easy and a little bit older.
Crossover Games:
Still Life – Special Edition
I quite liked it first, but now I'm stuck at the famous "cake" puzzle – the most illogical
piece of puzzle-design I've encountered in 20 years of playing adventure games.
PS3:
Fallout 3
It's your typical Bethesda RPG: I can't really find a good plot, all the characters
look, talk and walk like clones and that's about it.

When the new iMacs arrive I'll be getting one and I'll then finally be able to get Neverwinter Nights 2 (Mac). With that new machine I might finally give Bootcamp a try with The Witcher, MLB Front Office Manager, and the Sims 3.
However I'm a pretty deliberate gamer so just the Mac games I've mentioned could easily occupy me until 2010.

Currently:
Thief - classic stealthy fun
Fallout 3 - I enjoy it a whole lot more than its many detractors, though it does have a certain Bethesda limpness to it.
Recently:
World of Goo (
King's Bounty (
Soon:
Thief II
Dawn of War II (
Giants - yay gog.com!
Left 4 Dead - took forever to buy it, since I'm sick to (un)death of zombies, but just found out a few friends of mine have picked it up, so time to enjoy some of that Valve polish applied to co-op!
