Greetings,

I'm doing some research on the state of Apple's Bootcamp drivers. If you want to help out, I need you to do three things:
  • Try to recall the version of Bootcamp you installed, and whether or not you've manually updated your RealTek / Forceware drivers in the past.
  • Open up your Forceware control panel, hit the Help menu, and select System Information. Save a report, and paste its contents in this thread.
  • In the Windows tray (located on lower right-hand corner of your screen), you'll notice a little red speaker icon--that's your RealTek HD control panel. Open it up, and find the little "i" button--it may be on the lower left or right of the control panel, depending on the version you have. Click on it, and give me your audio driver version (top line of the window that pops up).
That's it! Thanks in advance. :)

I don't know the Bootcamp revision (it's the version on my Leopard Disc)

Nvidia driver revision 7.15.11.6761 .. . I think that's Forceware 167.61 (what came from Windows Update in Windows 7)

RealTek audio driver version: 6.0.1.5772 (2.14 according to the website I downloaded it from)

Version 2.1, and yes I have updated things

I think its Forceware 179.28, its the one that NVidia have officially on their website

And the RealTek audio (cant honestly be bothered to reboot just to find this out, sorry) is their latest 64-bit version. Probably 2.14 as J'nathus said.

of course, this is for Windows 7, 64-bit.
Back in XP I had 2.1, Forceware 179.28, but the standard audio.
Polytetrafluoroethylene to my friends.

Macbook Pro - C2D 2.4Ghz / 4Gb RAM / WD Scorpio Black 320GB ( 255GB OSX v 42GB XP ) / Geforce 8600M GT 256Mb / 15.4"
Cube - G4 1.7Ghz 7448 / 1.5Gb RAM / Samsung Spinpoint 250GB / Geforce 6200 256Mb

We won! Apple offer the 17" with a matte screen! Well... at a price...

Mmkay. I should've stipulated that I was only really interested in figuring out what Apple originally shipped with Bootcamp. I'm glad to see that you guys figured out how to get your hands on the newer RealTek HD drivers--at this point, the only truly new information that I'll have to offer in the article I'm writing is the Broadcom driver hack. It basically nails the problem with the 4.170.xx.xx drivers (weird audio glitches, unusual CPU usage, packet loss).
