As mentioned in another post, my current Macbook replaced it due to an ailing, half-dead harddrive. I was looking to replace my PB anyway so I didn't even bother to try to get it fixed, since that money just went right to the MB. Anyway, I was able to transfer my important files over during the rare few stints the harddrive managed to cooperate with me, which is never for long.
So I have this useless, crippled Mac sitting about and I doubt I'll ever do anything with it, but I was wondering if it was worthwhile for me to try to sell it. Guess I'll have to remove the defective harddrive first then, although I'm not sure I would trust myself with that. Do you think there might be any buyers at the $100 range? Should I ask for more? After all, everything else was just working fine - with the exception of the battery not holding a charge past the twenty minute mark, so that might have to be bought, too - with the included install discs, etc. All a person would have to do is buy an HD and they'd have a working machine again.
Lastly, how do I best eliminate the data on the defective drive other than physical destruction? I certainly can't format it, for obvious reasons. So I probably would have to remove it, one way or another.
Hm, I also could see about donating to someone who needs a computer, but then I would have to get it fixed...
