Was Terran Conflict ever released as a boxed product ? Amazon.co.uk have it as "Usually delivered within 1 or 2 months" ?! Digital downloads are fine as long as you're not wanting a game as a present come Christmas ;)

$20 on Mac App Store today.

Can anyone comment on performance? How does it run? On 2010/11 Macs?

Is it really like Elite? Really?

Oops – I could have commented on this. Too late now...

Anyway: anybody noticed that X3 Reunion has been ported again for Mac? Yes, the SteamPlay version actually the third port of the game available, this time by Egosoft themselves. They are currently also porting the other two X3 games (Terran Conflict and Albion Prelude) and will continue to do their ports in-house in the future:

Quote

EGOSOFT is currently working on porting all X3 games (X3: Reunion, X3: Terran Conflict and X3: Albion Prelude) natively to both Linux and Mac OS. There will be a transition period in which we phase out the older ports by 3rd parties, but our goal is to make all three versions available under "Steamplay" for all customers. This means that everybody who owns a Windows license on Steam will automatically own all three versions!

The bad news is that owners of the VP versions currently don't have access to the new versions, although Egosoft is allegedly working on that.

Well popsnizzle. Now I'm extra glad I bought the X Superbox during the Steam summer sale.

When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

Cool. I hope this means that the new one, X: Rebirth, is Mac-bound. It's looking impressive.

Does this have anything to do with the fact that these two games were onsale in the Mac App Store yesterday for $.99 each?

Allegedly a "Summer Sale"... but I wouldn't be surprised if there is a connection. The MAS versions (i.e. the VP ports) are basically unsupported already. Albion Prelude on Steam is on version 3.0 for quite a while now, the VP port is stuck at 2.5.1.

I played X2 for a while. I adored it, but it took me too long to get anything done. I decided I didn't have time to spend the hours each night on it. So I skipped the later ones as well. But every time one comes out I get the itch.

Anyone want to guess what happened a week after I posted the message above?

tBC appeared to you in a vision, wearing a pink tutu and singing "Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This" while blowing things up with a rocket launcher?

You are all wrong! (Okay, Battle Cat wasn't exactly WRONG, merely off-topic.)

Mac App Deals has a name-your-own-price deal on Virtual Programming titles until the end of August, so of course I caved like a cheap suit.

Apps Included:
-X3: Albion Prelude
-Pride of Nations

Beat the average price to also get:
-X3: Terran Conflict
-Capitalism 2
-Hearts of Iron 2 Complete
-Flatout 2

(Note: to install these you have to use Deliver2Mac, Virtual Programming's digital distribution app thingy.)

Not even close! The song was "Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves".

I can do that song because I got that black chick head-side-to-side motion thingy down.
