so I fired up Doom III, Unreal Tournament 2004, and Halo today in order to check out some of the new gaming improvements that where claimed to be in 10.5.6 good news is that no more black boxes around the muzzle flash from the gun in halo and I noticed slightly higher fps in Doom 3. UT 2004 seemed to pretty much be the same anyway just wondering if any of you guys noticed better gaming performance.

I didn't notice any improvement in Doom3 with an ATI X1600.

I'm getting slightly better FPS in ET:QW, nothing in Halo or Q3 though.

I'll fire up X-Plane 9 tonight after I get build 1.1 of Widget Monkey pushed to the Apple Store and report if anything is changed/improved.

I wonder if the improvement is just like with nvidia cards or something because so far I have noticed many noticeable improvements but I dont play games in a high resolution so maybe it has to do with playing at a lower resolution.

10.5.6 seems to have fixed the lag introduced in spore's 1.03 patch for me.
