Appletell has announced a December giveaway offering participants the chance to win a 400MHz G3 Indigo iMac and a collection of Classic OS games. Depending on the number of contestants the winner will receive from 10 to 43 games.

For the next three weeks, we’ll be holding a giveaway of a heavily used but solid 400MHz G3 Indigo iMac. And what would you want with such a thing? Beats us…unless, of course, you’d like to play over 40 Mac OS Classic games on it.

All these games are just taking up valuable space here at Appletell Towers, and we need to make room for the new rod hockey table. So, we’re going to give away this iMac along with 10 Mac OS Classic games (the iMac comes with Mac OS v9.2.1 installed) of the winner’s choice from the list below. For each 100 entries we receive, we’ll throw in another 10 games. If we hit 400 entries, all of the games will be awarded.

Potential Game Prizes:
• Asteroids
• Bingo Bingo Bingo
• Bugdom
• Bungie Mac Action Pack
• The Castle
• Centipede
• The Crystal Key
• Dracula: Resurrection

I know of two Indigo iMacs that people are dropping off for electronics recycling! Maybe they should have been saved :)

I have older Macs that I keep around just to play classic games on (one of them running OS 8!).

This is actually a really nice prize they are offering.  I already own most of the games, though, so I won't enter--let someone else have a better chance (on rereading the rules, I will enter, to boost the number of games won for the winner).  Put a new battery and some extra RAM into that iMac (I hope it comes with the install disks, too) and it's a nice little machine for playing pre-OS X games.
