And what happened to MacPlay? Where they bought out since they don't seem to be supporting their old titles anymore.

And I have to agree that it's ridiculous that they didn't just kill MacPlay, but are using the name to sell Windows games.
Hi,
Sorry about the first one.
For some odd reason I found the realMYST for Mac patch on ye olde Panther HD archives. It's a .sit package, so it's not Windows. PM me with your e-mail and I'll zap it to ya.
Yes, it's the real myst patch. It has the Vise installer and Macplay in the Read Me.

***If you do not have a Radeon 9000 Pro / Radeon 9000 Mobility or a dual processor machine, you do not need this patch and should discard it.***

I think you might need to change a few things over there.

When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

Thanks, Mike. However, I installed the patch – which addresses my dual processors – succesfully on my Dual 2.0 G5 with Radeon 9600 Pro running Leopard 10.5.8 and realMyst still crashes with "bus error".
Actually the first time I ran it, it worked fine all trough the intro movie up until I clicked the book. The game promptly crashed at that point. After that it refused to even start the intro, so I removed the file "com.MacPlay.realMyst.plist" in Preferences, but realMyst still crashes with "com.apple.launchd[379] ([0x0-0xc29c29].com.MacPlay.realMYST[87730]) Exited abnormally: Bus error". This even after reinstallation and reupdate with the patch.
Any ideas, gamers?

I solved the problem, sort of. I installed the CHUD tools from Apple Developer Tools and ran CPU palette in order to turn off one processor. This worked, realMyst ran and was playable. However at set "best quality" and 1600 x 900 on my 20–inch display actual quality was way way inferior in comparison to the same realMyst installation running under Tiger 10.4.9, with jerky motion as well as erratic response from mouse action and quality of displayed graphics. Considering this why would anyone want to run realMyst under Leopard? It would be better to install Tiger on an external disk and boot from that.
Anyone can shed some light to why the quality is so bad on G5 hardware running Leopard? BTW, I have 4GB RAM.
