Homeworld 2 multiplayer crash

Not sure if anyone else here plays Homeworld 2, but me and a group of friends have been trying to play over a LAN, and we can't play with more than 3 people. If you play with 4 the game will crash after 20 minutes or so. Not sure what the problem is or if there's a solution. I haven't found anything online about a bug like this.
