So that's it? There's no way to obtain the sound files from the game?

I've tried to get out the sounds to. So +1 on the issue... Will it work with Crossover and Windows StarCraft and a MPQ utility for Windows?

I don't know. I don't have Windows nor a means of accessing a computer with windows (Crazy, huh?).

That just reminds me. Does anyone here have the files?

Next time, look for "starcraft sfx", and you'll find this: http://phrozenkeep.p...pic.php?t=49123

Sorry, I never thought about using the SFX in the search bar. Thank you for the link. I'll post how it goes!

Ok. All four files have been downloaded. Everything is good, except there's one problem.

NO MUSIC

I know, there's an official soundtrack for StarCraft, but it's horribly put together. They 'blend' the music together instead of having them be their own stand alone tracks.

Since I was able to get all the music from World of Warcraft through the MPQ extractor, I thought the same would happen for StarCraft. Is that true?

Thanks for the link, but I'm a little confused about the site. Every time I click on one of the ripped sites, the download link takes me to a page that says:

IMPORTANT: There are NOT any Digital audio/MP3 files on mirsoft.info server and I do NOT have these tunes for public as well.

So, if they don't have the files to download, why the heck do they list downloadable content? There are like three StarCraft soundtrack rips that others have done, but no links. Basically all I can get from this site is that there is music from the game, people have ripped it, but they're either gone, hidden or not disclosable.

I'm pretty sure it's alright to extract the files for your own personal, non-profiting use. You do after all own the game.

It is grey, yes. But we're talking about those who own the game that just want direct access to the sound files while not playing the game. I'll be more than happy to do it myself, but at present I cannot so I ask others for help.

I heard back, Blizzard is cool with this.  I rather thought they would be so I didn't hide the thread from sight, but I did want their OK to leave it here.
