My good ole Saitek Cyborg Gold USB stick doesn't work in X-Plane 9.21rc2. I talked to Randy at X-Plane and he said they had received lots of reports confirmed that Saitek sticks don't work well.
So, that leaves CH. But there's a considerable price jump between Saitek and CH. How does this "tightwad" get a good, workable joystick ~$50 or less? :glare:

Thanks

Have you tried using USB Overdrive to make your joystick work with X Plane? It might be able to get them to recognize each other. http://www.usboverdrive.com

If that doesn't work, I know many Logitech joysticks work with Macs out of the box. I have a Wingman Extreme Digital3D that works with Battlefield 1942 and some free flying games. The only problem I have with it is the slider goes from -25% to 75% and I haven't found a way to change it. If I assign it to throttle I can't get it to go to 100%.

That's a bit disheartening to hear. I just picked up X-Plane 9 recently and was looking to get a joystick around Thanksgiving. The current one at the top of my list is the Saitek Aviator (about $40).

This review seemed promising: http://www.amazon.co...=cm_cr_rdp_perm

I guess I'm going to follow this thread for a little while myself before making a decision.

My father just bought the aviator to use with the latest x-plane, and he says it works fine. He first borrowed my cyborg gold 3d to see if he wanted to invest in a joystick, and that worked too. He's running on an intel macbook pro, don't know the proc speed.

YMMV
