So, reading this review has me wanting to grab the game off Steam RIGHT NOW to play on my Windows partition.
But then the rooomers make me wonder if a Mac version is around the corner.
Whaddya all think? Did Aspyr ditch Beyond the Sword 'cause they had this up their sleeve? Is it a matter of weeks or month until it's on our beloved MacOS?

What exactly is different about Colonization compared to Civ4, gameplay wise?

I think it's more of Colonization remake, from 1492-17something. Not all that similar, and Aspyr should be shot if they think this is preferable to BtS. It looks like the rumours point to 2k, anyways.

The rumour looks pretty unsubstatial. It's based on a listing at the ESRB, where Civ 4: Colonization is listed as for Windows PC and Macintosh. However, so is Civ 4: Beyond the Sword and basically every EA game released for Windows in the last year.

Actually, the original Colonization was a better game than Civilization. I still play it from time to time.
I don't know whether this offering will be as good as the original, but if it's anywhere close it'll be good. I'm a little skeptical that they're making it from Civilization 4 technology. It looks a little too similar to Civ 4 for my taste. Colonization deserves it's own look and feel.

I've been oddly disinterested in the new Colonization game. Perhaps it is as you reference, it's similarity to Civ4. I use a PC laptop my school provides me, so I've got the complete Civ4 series on it. I anticipated I'd rush out and get Colonization once it was released, but it hasn't happened. I now tell myself I'll grab it when the price drops. Of course, I'd still by a Mac version, Aspyr.
