i have been running lan parties for years on windows machines, and recently got a ridiculous deal on an imac g5. it has 2 gigs of memory and the 1.8 processor, i know it's a little outdated, but like i said ridiculous. anyway, we still have one lan party than runs older games. aoe 2 unreal tournament goty, and such. will this mac work in a lan party setting with those kind of games? i tried lan with aoe 2 and couldn't see the game created on the windows machine. i'm a complete mac newbie so any help would really help. thanks.

There are some games that are not Mac/PC network compatible for different reasons. AoE 2 (and all other games of the same series) is one of those, where it's due to the PC version using some propietary Microsoft networking thingy that is not available for Macs.
On the other hand, there are many other games that are Mac/PC multiplayer capable. UT'99 is one of those. There is a whole thread here dedicated to this topic, so I guess you can get a lot of suggestions there.
