Eurogamer has published the transcript of a recent fan Q&A with Spore executive producer Lucy Bradshaw. The discussion covered a variety of topics related to Will Wright's latest god-sim including Maxis' decision not to release a demo of the game, the game's copy protection measures, and hints at what gamers can expect from expansions.

"We're not planning a demo of the game. Just the Creature Creator," she said during our live chat . "We've released a number of videos to show off the game."

On the subject of expansions - sort of an inevitability given Maxis' success expanding The Sims and its sequel - Bradshaw said this would happen but hinted at a few interesting approaches involving editors rather than simply new assets.

"When we started Spore, we were thinking about how we'd make an engine that had the possibility of expansion, so yes, we'll add to the experience," she said.

"I think, however, we have a very cool opportunity to take Spore in a few different directions too. The editors are so cool and fun, that we want to advance those as well as the gameplay that we put into the core game."

Among those additions should be the flora editor, which was axed from the full game. "We are not shipping with the flora editor. Sorry. It's something we eventually want to get out there as it is fun to work with," our speed-typing interviewee said.

No demo - FAIL!
"They're everywhere!"

And now, time for some Legend of Zelda.

As do I. Especially since Amazon is bloating the price. A local (nongamestop or somewhatever) game store I worked for two years ago, is selling it cheaper than them! And I get a discount!

Making me review my amazon-only buy stance.

Yeah, there have been a few things I go "WTF is wrong with you amazon?!" ... guess every store has it's moments. Newegg does it from time to time too (my other most shopped place).

But no demo?! Gah, game producer suicide.

Well...not in this case.  Unless something goes disastrously wrong, it's pretty much guaranteed to sell a bajillion copies.

True. I guess Spore Creature Creator is demo enough.

55 € recommended retail price? One of the "cheaper" games?

45€ for me? and without discount, 49ish. That's rather cheap. For a new game atleast.

OK, they dont have free postage like amazon does, but it still only costs 52€ for sending in austria. Maybe even the same for germany.
