So here's the deal, I bought Sims 2 when it first came out for my old pc years ago. Now that I have switched over to Mac I decided to give VMware fusion a try so I can play it again. Everything seemed to be going fine until I tried to delete a section of fence that I put in the wrong spot. I had already saved the lot so I couldn’t hit undo. So I did the control + left click and instead of deleting the arrow turned into a blue arrow and started to tilt my screen. I played around with the system preferences (in mac) to see if I could change the settings so it would work and the closest I got was turning the control key off and then it did nothing when I tried to delete the wall. Any help would be awesome.
Also, if I try to add water that isn’t the pool its red instead of blue.

Control Button issues (sims 2 specific)

The red water is definitely a VMWare problem. These virtualisations aren't the best solution for playing Windows games on a Mac – especially ones that have an actual Mac port.
However: control+mouse click to rotate the camera is a control option of the Sims. I'm wondering why you try to "right click" by using control click in the first place. Do you use a real mouse or a trackpad on a MacBook/MacBook Pro? In both cases: you can use any two-button mouse with your Mac – helps a lot. If you insist on using the trackpad, you can also "right click" by putting two fingers on the trackpad and then click. This also works in VMware.

Then probably VMware is the problem (that is – as I mentioned – not really good for games). I assume it interprets every press of ctrl+mouse as right click. You could check if VMware offers to remap the right click to another key. Or you could consider getting the native MacOS X version of the game – which works as it should.
