The game is now available for download when you register. More information can be found at the official site; VGP3.com

We have been in the testing phase for some months now and the release as of now is v0.62. It is not UB at this time, but it does play well under Rosetta or even in the Windows environment for those with intel based Macs (but who wants to use that  ). It includes a formula 1 type carset (16 fictional cars) and 3 tracks (Imola, Indianapolis and Silverstone). It uses an LFS type subscription and pricing scheme. There is a lot more to come in the near future as this game is made like middleware with the modding community being its future biggest asset. The physics engine and renderer are very solid. The tools that will be available soon are also comprehensive. The physics are some of the best and most complex I have ever used or tested. There is not a lot there yet, but there will be soon.

Paolo is the author of the game and created the series originally for the Amiga with the original VGP (Alien F1 as it was also known). VGP2 was then released in 2003 and is also currently being updated by me (Find it here.). This (VGP3) is the final addition to the series and by far the most comprehensive in terms of modding potential and physics.
Here is an article done by LXmartini at AutoSimSport on VGP3 that sheds a lot of light on the game. It's a good and honest read.

Please don't say it sucks until you get all the information. Like I said, there may not be a lot there right now, but it will get there. Just keep it in mind.

Having purchased the game myself only 24 hours ago I can already say VGP3 is a must buy for any Mac racing fan. I've already had my moneys worth having spend hours playing it today. :)

If you have an interest in F1 I'm sure you really will love it and if even you prefer another type of racing the engine has the potential to offer this too when the tools are released to mod the game. You only have to look at Jaguar God's work on updating VGP2 to see the potential. I really suggest as many Mac gamers as possible support this fantastic piece of work. The Mac is unfortunately not over run with racing titles and IMHO a release of this quality should be front page news!
