I'm a half breed: my mother was from earth. My father was four dimensional.. Imagine her surprise, when she found out that he had more dimensions!

(incidentally, for those who don't know it: theoretically, if you were to ever come upon a four dimensional being, catsized, it could change its' form at will, since only a tiny part of it is being shown in our dimension. like a pencil sticking through a piece of paper, it changes its' surface and form as you push it further through, or pull it further out. (3D>2D))

Now all they need is to roll out a DirectX Conversion Kit for windows games developers, and there set. I don't really want to have to pay for this, though it does sound exactly what OS X needs.
But cmon', Snow Leopard is the stupidest name ever concieved.

Ya, i'm pretty sure there not gonna have that either unless 1 TB sticks magically appear and they double the RAM slots. But they do say "break through amounts of RAM" so maybe it'll be able to hold double the RAM it does now or something, i dunno

it appears that the developers build is intel only. I cant remember where I saw the picture, but the requirements on the DVD states that you need an intel processor.

Why aren't we all speaking Klingon anyway?  English is dead.  Klingon is the future!

Speaking of dead things, Leopard dev previews were Intel-only as well.  So the Snow Leopard thing is pretty meaningless at this point.

i think the name really, really sucks.

really.

i cant stress it enough.

it has no Zing and all the advertising appeal of a rotten melon; we've got plenty of cats left.

OS 10.6 - Lynx is far better, imo

A like the name Snow Leopard, although I wish they hadn't used Jaguar so early on.

I'm still happy and buzzing about Leopard, I can't believe they are already brining a new one out  :mellow:

Might not work so well in the UK where Lynx is a hugely popular deodorant brand (Axe elsewhere). Then of course, there's LynxOS and the Atari Lynx. *shudder*

I actually like the name, too.

As this release isn't going to include any--or very few--new features, and is just meant to optimize and stabilize the OS, the name makes perfect (poetic) sense:

Snow = pure, clean.

Thus it'll be a cleaner, purer version of Leopard.
