Anything new for the VGPHD update for VGP2 will be listed here. As always, let me know if there is anything wrong. I do not have a lot of time to playtest as I work constantly and have a Wife and 3 Kids. Also, the tools to mod this game are very limited, so please do not expect perfection. Thanks go out to all of you for your continued support.

See the Official VGPHD site at this link for more downloads and other information about the project.

Installed Indy the other day - looks great:) I'm downloading Monza now - can't wait to try it. Your efforts are really appreciated as you've turned VGP2 into a fantastic sim for us Mac using F1 fans!

BTW I think the link for the 1.1 Drivers file is broken. I noticed I didn't have Vettel in my drivers so was going to update.

I'm always a bit wary with these racing sims that come in several pieces.

Where do I start? Which file do I download first? Is this playable for normal users/gamers?

JaguarGod has been updating to 2007 the sim Virtual Grand Prix 2, which has been off the market for a long time, and he has done a super job.

I think the very last active link to the VGP2 demo is here:
http://www.versiontr...fo/macosx/21114
Click on "Download v1.5a" (top right corner)

I'm fairly sure, JaguarGod's tracks can be installed in the demo as follows:
Place the new track folder in the < VGP2 / circuiti > folder.
  Open the < VGP2 / config > folder and open the file < circuiti.config > with TextEdit.
Add the "exact" track folder name to the list and save/close. Example:

imola
monza
indianapolis
END

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, you can use them with the demo. It's a work in progress, but coming along.

The VersionTracker link to the VGP2 demo I provided in Post#6 seems to work erratically (not everytime). Also, I've tested this demo on my 24" Intel iMac and it wouldn't launch. If the VersionTracker demo does not work for you, try the following:

Just a quick update on progress.

1. New version of Montreal (v1.1) now available with fixed backstraight  .
2. Testing is finished on Interlagos. Will be available on Friday. This is by far the biggest track change made so far. My most ambitious endeavor yet. Not everything worked right, but it is quite a difference between the original and this version.
3. Working on a quick Indianapolis update. Should be available by the end of the week.

Thanks a lot Jason for that new version 1.1 of the Montreal track (Circuit Gilles Villeneuve... my home town) and for that new Interlagos v1.0 upgrade.

I dont remember if I mentioned this before, but I also really like the new steering wheel LCD of the Car/Driver Set v1.5 ... much improved, very readable while racing.

It's too bad the game is running under Rosetta on my 24" Intel iMac. Up till now, I've been using the HD version of your tracks, but Interlagos is rather borderline FPS-wise.

In every racing game I have, in addition to some FPS loss under Rosetta, the worse part for me is graphic quality loss ; for instance, the track surface, where the darker raceline is seen as purplish/greenish in some areas, in cockpit view. Also, seems to me that there's more OpenGL type flickering and a general color diluting.

I've been able to compare the PC and Mac versions of Nascar 2003 and 4x4 Evo2 on my machine and everything looks so much better in XP D3D. I guess I should try to find the PC version of VGP2.

Your work is greatly appreciated Jason... you're doing a fantastic job.

That really is too bad about Rosetta. The game runs so nice on PPC and looks great even on low end Macs. I am glad you enjoy the updates though. Interlagos does push it a little. There's a lot there.

I was really hoping Rosetta performance was going to be good enough.  :( I might have to try and delay upgrading to an Intel Mac a bit longer as I can't really go without VGP2 HD and VGP3 and don't really have space to keep my Power Mac as well.

What I wrote may have sounded worse than I meant. VGP2 HD is still very drivable in Rosetta. Compared to my previous PowerBook G4 my Intel iMac is a bomb.

Thanks a lot for the Indy v1.1 update Jason.
