I have this old old OSX10.2 machine with an equally old Roxio Toast Titanium 5 on it. It has always been the machine I burn backup cds, mp3 cds, linux isos, and pc-destination cds/dvds on. It has always worked flawlessly really, no qualms. However newer versions of software can always turn to crap (look at adobe).
I want to retire the old machine, and start using a newer laptop for burning now (It has 10.4 on it). But I still need to be able to burn functional cd/dvds like I used too. And this BS Mac OSX Disk Utility burning software is just trash. The problem with my RTT5 is, it flat out fails to work on the laptop with 10.4.
So, I need to buy something new, and was wondering if the latest Roxio Toast is STILL as great as it USED to be, or they made it worse. Or, if anyone has a better opinion on something to use.
Thanks.

You should try this.
Freeware ftw.
Freeware ftw.
Firstly sorry to resurrect the dead - I tried a search on the forums 'burn backup' etc etc but only found one thread.
I want to make backup's of my Mac game collection & keep my originals in the box. Would something like Liquid CD be OK for burning a copy I can keep in the drive to play ?
Any advise would be appreciated

I doubt that. Basically all games released in the last years use a copy protection mechanism that burning softwares cannot reproduce. Your copies wouldn't be recognised as "original" CD/DVD.
