Razer DeathAdder Mouse issues =(

So today, I jump on windows to do some work for school, and well vista decided it need to update itself. So it went through everything and updated, but when my laptop restarted my Razer DeathAdder mouse decided to not work. So I went to Razer's site and updated all the new drivers and firmware and still no luck with the mouse. I tried switching USB ports, no luck, tried a different mouse and that worked, tried my mouse on other computers and it worked, mouse works fine in OS X as well.....
Now whats really weird is that when I have my mouse plugged in and open up the Razer software I am able to turn off of the scroll wheel light and logo light, however I cannot move the cursor or click with the mouse. Also sometimes when I plug the mouse in, Vista says that it recognizes the mouse and goes through its driver installation, but still no luck with the mouse.
So anyways...I was just wondering if anyone else was having this problem if they knew of a solution =). Emailed Razer about it but I doubt I will get a response for several days.

So I think the problem is actually with the USB drivers provided by mac and the newest Vista updates.
Currently now no mouse will work when plugged into a use port. However, I have an external hard drive which can be plugged into either USB port and I can access it just fine.
So...not sure what is going on that would allow the laptop to read and recognize a USB harddrive, but ignore a USB mouse on the same port.
However...I currently do not have my OS X > Vista drivers disc that I had to burn with boot camp, and boot camp will not let me burn a new driver disc since the version I have is the "BETA" version and will not let me proceed with burning a new disc. So is there a way to update to the newest bootcamp that does not involve upgrading to OS X.5? I would love to do that at some point but I do not have the cash right now....

One thing, first of all--the company you're referring to is Apple, not "Mac." Apple creates Macintosh computers, not the other way around.
Anyway, you're using nVidia drivers for your mouse, which should work perfectly with Macs running 32-bit Windows XP and Vista . Unless someone else has a better idea, it sounds like you might want to try wiping some of the junk off your system to see if that helps resolve the problem that you're experiencing. You could try uninstalling the DeathAdder driver and then reinstalling it, but if it seems like this is a system wide issue, then you might need to try to nuke your Boot Camp drivers, and if THAT doesn't work, your Vista installation.
The Bootcamp 2.0 drivers included on the OS X 10.5 retail DVD aren't going to help this problem any more than the 1.4 drivers will (they're pretty much the same). If you still have the Bootcamp 1.4 utility, just set your computer's date back to before September 30th, 2007 before you launch the app and it should work fine. Then you should be able to create a new driver CD.

Anyways on another note, I tried removing all the updates that Vista had installed the other day, and was able to remove all but one, I wonder if this update has anything to do with it.
I just cant figure out why the mouse is recognized, but wont put in any positive feedback to the computer, to me it seems odd that I cant put in any inputs through the mouse, but yet the mouse receives commands from the computer, would make more sense if I could only read my external hard drive and not write anything on it =/....anyways thanks for the help =)

Hehe well I got impatient and decided to just wipe the partition and do a fresh install...hopefully that will fix the problem lol.
So while I have your attention, I have another quick question about drivers. I currently have a LCD TV with an HDMI input that I use for a dual monitor settup with my laptop. The TV supports some very high resolutions, beyond what my laptops graphic's card can, and so I use the 1440x900 resolution on it. In OS X I am able to use 1440x900 but on the windows side it only lets me select up to 1280x800 I believe. Is there a way to increase the resolution to 1440x900 on the 2nd monitor? Vista will let me select 1440x900 for my laptop screen but not for the 2nd monitor and after using 1440x900 I cant stand anything less than that lol.
PS~ sorry for the sudden topic change =).

I'm 100% sure that you can increase the resolution so long as you aren't already maxing out the resolution of that other monitor, but you'll probably need to use the ATI Catalyst control panel to do that (to see if it's installed, go to Vista's Control Panel and then click on "Classic View"). For instance, I'm currently testing a 30" HP LCD that has a native resolution of 2560x1600, and the nVidia CP gives me a couple of different options: I can set both panels to the same resolution, disable one or the other, or run both displays at separate resolutions.
There's just one caveat: if your LCD HDTV has a maximum resolution of 720p, then you'll be stuck with 1280x720 as the maximum resolution. If it's 1080p, then you can hit 1920x1080, but my guess is that you have a 720p display and you have mirroring enabled in Mac OS X. While Mac OS X may say that you're hitting 1440x900, it's really just telling you the resolution of your primary display--OS X is scaling down the image on your external display to 1280x720 (720p).

Hehe yeah...the system wipe really wasnt so bad, I think all together it took about 45 minutes to install XP and then use the Vista upgrade dvd...definitely spent a lot more time trying to update drives and what not to get the mouse to work lol. Bad news is somehow my Razer mouse got fried and no longer works on anything...which is interesting since this is the second Razer mouse I have had that has died on me...not sure if something happened during the firmware updates or what but its shot.....
As for the tv that is a really good question, I have often wondered what the resolution was since there was no information given when I purchased it, and nothing in the manual or the box, (I just know it had a gorgeous picture in the store) but I do believe that it supports 1080p.
The reason I believe this is because I own a PS3 (which is hooked up through an HDMI cable), in the PS3 menu it allows you to select which definitions you will allow your ps3 to change into to fit your tv. If you select the auto scan feature it brings up a list of which definitions your tv supports, and it gives me 1080p and 1080i. My friend who also has a similar tv (same size, different brand and features) also has a ps3, but when he manually tells it to select 1080p, the screen goes crazy and his ps3 resets its definition back to 720p. Also, when I put in a blue ray dvd, I can bring up the display which tells me the resolution that the tv is in, and it states that when a blue ray movie is in play, the definition is 1920x1080. Lol wow...after that I am almost convinced myself that the tv supports 1080p lol...guess I never really stopped and thought about it....
Anywho I guess I will check out the catalyst drivers again and see if they allow me to set the resolution to 1440x900.
