All right, I've had extraordinarily good luck getting old games that I missed out on buying way back when via this forum, so I'm gonna give it yet another go with Havoc.

Remember an old game for the Mac, released in 1995 or 1996, called Havoc? Was by Reality Bytes. 3D vehicle combat sim with great action, good music, and was just plain fun as hell to play. Looked like this:

I had completely forgotten about it until I went playing some old games on my UMAX S900, and loaded up and played the Havoc demo and had a blast with it. To my eternal shame, I never bought it, and now I obviously can't.

Anyone got an old copy of the game floating around that they never play with anymore? Would you consider parting with it?

Bump, because I still want Havoc, and also because I had a heart attack when I saw the date I posted this. Holy popsnizzle 2008 went by fast.

This was definately one of the games I would have liked to try out, except for the demo.. Man it was awesome. Good luck on getting it!

And this was a Mac game? I am almost afraid to google for reviews because in the timeframe you've given, I'd think I would surely have heard of this game just for its graphics alone . . . just having not heard a peep about it has me wondering if it was deemed a stinker? It's almost got me of a mind to pull out Descent though.

Yes, it's a Mac game (a Win95/Mac hybrid actually)...I have it. It got pretty good reviews at the time. And it is in fact pretty good, although it doesn't run very well in Classic--it gets like 2 fps for some reason, but works fine in SheepShaver.

(No, I'm not selling it, sorry! But here's a pic.) Posted Image

Eric.

I KNEW he would have it, AND that he wouldn't sell it. The fiend. Eric, you must procure your Cedar Box from Pathways Into Darkness and put that copy of Havoc inside. Then when there are two after a minute, send me one. Otherwise, I shall reconsider letting you on my team!

I think it was 96 when it came out because I remember them showing it off at MacWorld Boston... one of the few games you could play against your PC buddies/enemies.

I bought this when it came out for $40. I was 11 years old at the time. I remember it arriving when I was halfway through my morning of home-school. I was so excited, and played it as soon as I was done my school things. It came in this really cool box if I remember. Like a sort of cardboard molding type of thing. That aside Eric's picture shows what was inside said box.

*edit* ebay link shows the box I'm talking about.

Actually not sure where my copy went. I think I sold it to someone a while back when I was running a games sale thread a few years ago.

P.S. It was a very fun game.

Seeing as that ebay item hasn't sold in two months you could offer him $30-$40 for it, although it looks like the seller might be a store instead of an individual so I dunno if they would accept

Yeah, not a bad idea. I'll make him an offer.

$40 + priority shipping would be reasonable.
