I'm looking for some Nintendo GameCube games for my kids:

Starfox
Pikmin
Midway Museum
or others someone might offer... :)

maybe some other games someone might be willing to part with for kids under 9.

PM me and we can set something up, or post with some offers for starters.

Thank you!

I don't have any for sale but I can recommend quite a few games.
There's...
Mega Man Anniversary Collection (All the old megaman games 1-8 + 3 secret games :D)
Super Mario Sunshine
Super Smash Brothers Melee (Unless you already have it, I don't know why you shouldn't.)
Zelda: Windwaker.
Sonic Mega Collection.
Billy Hatcher and the giant egg.

I know there are quite a few more good games that your kids would like, but this list is good.

Harvest Moon. Absolutely kid friendly. And yes, I have it. And I don't know if I want to part with it, but you're better off buying it in your area, since I'm in austria, and the game only cost 30€ or so.

Thanks for the replies.
Some of those games I'm not too familiar with.
Like Harvest moon
Sonic Mega Collection.
Billy Hatcher and the giant egg.
Mega man

I thought super mario kart looked good too. The local game shops don't have any of the ones I'm looking
for. I got yelled at practically by one shop owner telling me the GC was way underpowered, and you'll
either love it or hate it.

Too bad the GC doesn't even come with Tetris like the older system did, and two controllers (I think it did) memory card too. Oh well, for $50 I won't complain too much.

What about paper mario?
I don't think I'm interested in Smash bros. They like puzzle, race, and arcade style.

Thanks again!

harvest moon is a cute farming rpg. you have to raise up a farm in a foreign country or somesuch. also connect with some "family making", like wooing a woman and so on.

Buying cows has never been so much fun!

Also, paper mario is fantastic. get it.

There is "Brown Shirt Mania" were you are a little German kid in WWII and must report all the things your parents do that are against the party line to the government. Sound easy? Think again! First you must catch your clever and sneaky parents in various acts of disloyalty! In this topsy turvy world where anything can happen, Allied bombers can blow you up if you don't scamper fast enough to the Ministry of Bad Parents. The floors on burned out buildings want to swallow you up, shattered brick walls tumble if you get too close and yes, your parents know what you are up to! Talk about grounded! You finked them out sure, but now can you collect all your gear for the Fuhrer's inspection, this time as an orphan dodging a stampede of starving people with wheel barrows scavenging the ruins for food? Look out! HERE COME THE RUSSIANS! Yes, it's WWII at it's funniest and most lovable in this charming and nostalgic look at yesteryear where your parents are the enemy and rats are your food! This casual game exercises on your eye hand coordination as well as your organization skills while under pressure and is recommended for kids 5 to 12.

Yeah, I forgot about Mario Kart: Double Dash, I'm sure they'll love it, and you can probably get it used somewhere easy.

In case yo-mike is not familiar with it, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is a Final Fantasy style RPG. Wander around a large world, engage in turn-based combat, choose which items and abilities to use, that sort of thing. No unavoidable random encounters though, I'm glad to say. Unless you have a general dislike of that game style, you will love it. I picked up its N64 predecessor on Virtual Console, and was pleasantly surprised by how very good it is. The GC sequel is even better.

I dunno. I was just looking for something cute and childlike and everything looks like its either too complicated for them or too spiritualist steeped for kids. This or these games I get for my kids is going to be for them to play and enjoy for when I'm at work. I'm really not too interested in playing it. It's just for them to play when my wife supplies the disc when they do their homework and chores and what-not.

I'm pretty sure there's some good games at the nicer shop I went too. I'll stop by there in a week or two to see what they've got. Or I'll call with some queries for their stock and what I'm looking for.

If all else fails I go ebaying or check another shop further away when I'm in the area weeks down the road. I'm really not in too much of a hurry, his birthday is in mid-May. That's when my oldest son turns 8.

Oh well, if anyone has anymore suggestions please do.

Thanks!
yo-mike

On a side question... Is there 2 different TR Legends for Nintendo? One for GC and one for Wii?
Tx

I don't think It's on the Wii, bit I know it's on the GC.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure the last one I saw on a shelf it said Wii. Otherwise I've only seen GC on them on eBay (For ref.) (For me later on)

The Wii can play GC games, so it's kind of confusing and I don't remember for sure what I saw on the shelf. (Could swear I saw Wii on it)

There is a paper mario for the wii. There is a harvest moon coming for the wee, and a mario kart too, for the whui.

But I would say harvest moon is a good bet for little-ish children. It's cute and completely harmless. Unless you mind them knowing that in order to woo a woman (or man, there is a version where you play a woman, japanese only, sadly) you have to buy her gifts. Not quite as realistic as real "farmering", but fun nonetheless! (this game also exists for the DS)

Otherwise, Mario Kart Double Dash is fantastic too, simply racing with goofy fun.

oh oh, and Mario Sunshine! That one was great too, and great, watery fun.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I've decided on Tetris Worlds for GameCube.
I had the answer all along, I just didn't 'get it'.

Looks pretty good. I liked the old original better.

Never mind on that. TW for GC got terrible reviews. Just ordered Namco Museum for Game Cube. :)
Those kids had better be good!

Zelda Windwalker: Not familiar with it nor interseted in getting a fantasy game for them.
Harvest Moon: Notta. I'll pass. Initiation into the Sims.
Mario Kart Double Dash: Way too overpriced for what it is or even find. They'll have fun playing Pole position anyway.

Thanks again.

Viewtiful Joe is nice and arcade like... a side scrolling platform type game.
Im surprised that noone has mentioned Luigi's Mansion, which, while it didnt set the world alight, was a solid platformer that showed off what the GC could do.
for a faster paced racing game, you could try F-Zero FX or whatever it is. A bit twitchy, and not as fun as Mario Kart (and even though you said its not worth it, Id have to disagree. Its a bundle of laughs with other people playing), but then again, not too much is.

TR Legends isnt for the Wii, its for the GC. You may have spotted TR:Anniversary, but again I doubt that. Its quite simply the retailers having stock which they cant shift for the GC, cos its a dead console, so they put stickers on saying that its Wii compatible, and sometimes bundle it with a GC controller or two.

How much research have you done into the console? despite its low price, Id still have looked on gamespot or IGN or something at reviews and all the various games available. You just dont seem too familiar with many of the suggestions made, and seemed to veto a number of the 1st party titles, which is pretty much where all the good games for the system came from.
Polytetrafluoroethylene to my friends.

Macbook Pro - C2D 2.4Ghz / 4Gb RAM / WD Scorpio Black 320GB ( 255GB OSX v 42GB XP ) / Geforce 8600M GT 256Mb / 15.4"
Cube - G4 1.7Ghz 7448 / 1.5Gb RAM / Samsung Spinpoint 250GB / Geforce 6200 256Mb

We won! Apple offer the 17" with a matte screen! Well... at a price...

I haven't done much research at all. Most members here agreed that the GameCube is a great console
for little kids. I trusted that and did some research for some games. There's actually a lot out there.
Finding them is the work involved. There's used video grame trade shops that have a limited selection
and that's good enough to browse for me once in a while. Amazon and eBay are spots to check too.

I just wanted some simple game concepts for my kids that's not too involved. I got Namco Museum
and it comes with PacMan, Ms PacMan, Galaga, Galaxian, DigDug, and Pole Position.
It got good reviews and it's what I decided on for now. I thought it was a excellent choice for me as a daddy. Excellent re-play value and when they're done and bored with it for the day we can work on other things like yardwork, projects, fishing, and other family activities.

It's just for them to be rewarded when they accomplish what they need to and have fun.
Nothing too involved or too fancy. The GC is the bargain game console and that's all I really expect
from it. It's mainly for them, not me.

Thanks again!
