Well, The Sims is of course one of EA's biggest cash cows – not without reason this franchise got its own business section. So I guess, it's not really a surprise that The Sims 3 is coming in 2009.
No official word on a Mac version yet, but I think the only question is: Port or Cider?

Um, is it just me, or does this just look like "The Sims 2, now with better normalmapping!"?
The leap from the Sims 1 to the Sims 2 seems to be far greater than that from The Sims 2 to The Sims 3.
