I'd love for us to do Civ: BTS for Mac.  I can't say absolutely we'll never do it (thank goodness!) but also can't say 100% we are going to do it.  There are non-technical reasons it hasn't come to the Mac yet, and being in Development, those are out of my control, unfortunately.  In a perfect world we'd have ported it and released it simultaneous with the PC (which we could have done technically), but for no single person's or company's fault it didn't happen that way.

This strangely reminds me of an ex girlfriend saying, "We can still be friends."

Of course, I know you would make it happen for the Mac if you could. Here's hoping.

On a side note : does Civ3-Complete support a resolution of 1680x1050. There doesn't seem to be a demo available, hence my question.

So we're still left in dark... :glare: Even if not to spite us, that's extremely unsatisfactory.
Not quite the dark.  There is a least a little nightlight in the corner.

Your comments on this matter are most appreciated!  Thank you.   Any chance you could give us an update on the status of the Warlords patch?

Probably for the best that BtS doesn't show up anytime soon. I think as soon as I'm done with my current massive game of Civ4 I'll be cured/sick of it for another 6 months. If BtS showed up tomorrow... gah. I'd be stuck compulsively playing Civ4 for another few months. I've got stuff to do. Civ4 keeps me from doing stuff. It is an evil game.

Don't forget the over the shoulder glance at the clock and the quick math: "It's 2am right now... I've got to get up for work at 6:00am... I can play for another hour!"

Did you guys notice the "clock" feature in Civ4? you can actually let the game display the time, how neat is that :D

I'm officially over my Civ4 addiction for the time being. I had amassed an enormous strike force to launch at an opposing AI Civ (who was trying to win... what was he thinking!? That cannot be allowed!) and every time I declared war on him the game crashed. So what if he was 'pleased' with me. He had to be eradicated. Besides, launching a full on strike against someone who is chummy with you is so satisfying. Nope. Crashed.
Had to invest some time getting him down to 'cautious' by canceling deals and making repeated demands before I could declare war without a crash, and by then I had run out of interest.

Buuuuuuuuuuuut if BtS comes out, I'll just play it a couple of times to see what's new. Just a few times... just a few more turns...

If Aspyr doesn't offer up Civ 4:BtS, then they will have to release a different strategy game. The market demand for a top tier strategy game is there.   How about it, Aspyr?  Feed the need of us strategy gamers with a port of Galactic Civilizations II.  It's single player, so you don't have to worry about networking. Plus, there is a new expansion coming shortly that looks like a lot of fun. :)

Content, or so many fixes..?

I mean, thats like one fourth of base Civ4, right?

by the way, does anyone know if they "fixed" the spying system in BtS already? I heard it was supposedly a bit annoying, and a bit broken. (for PC, of course)

True, but the previous patches were all smaller than 100 MB. Aspyr must have made some heavy changes especially considering that the PC version of this patch is just 80 MB...

Considering what Glenda posted earlier, I'd be surprised.  They must have had to do some serious coding to bring Warlords up to speed , or had to repair things.  I've downloaded it, but I'll wait for some reports first, or a statement from Aspyr.  How does the size compare to the PC 2.13?

Maybe they through in a polished version of SMAC/x since it was a while in waiting.  :D

See above: the PC patch is tenth of that.
