Is it just me or does Boot Camp 2.0 seem to run Win xp pro in my case a LOT faster. I just reinstalled this to check if my windows disk still worked and it boots into windows in less then a minute which before i seem to remember going to the toilet and brushing my teeth in the morning waiting for it to boot.

I would guess it's just because you have a fresh Windows installation (if I understand you correctly). I didn't notice any difference with mine.

Boot Camp 2.0 for the most part is identical to Boot Camp 1.4.  It's just a set of drivers and should not have an effect on startup time.

Yeah its a fresh install. I guess i will see how it runs once an AV program is on and updates are done.

I have this bug, where every other time I boot into Windows, Explorer freezes while loading. MacBook Pro X1600, Fresh XP/Boot Camp install, all latest firmware updates.

Those are some awesome drivers Apple.

What makes you think that Apple's drivers are responsible?

Because the last time I had to reinstall Boot Camp, there was a bug in the keyboard drivers that caused freezing on startup. Also, it is random and hasn't happened for a while, though I've made no changes, and OS X is fine.

Do the default ATI drivers work on the older Macbook Pros, and do the default NVidia drivers work on the newer ones? I had no issue using the regular NVidia drivers on my machine, but that could be because Apple's 7300GTs are just regular off-the-shelf 7300GTs with a larger ROM chip and EFI+BIOS drivers.
